I still find it amusing that Bush and Republicans are blamed for the invasion of Iraq. It took a long time, but there actually were WMDs found there. It's not like they were hiding an ICBM. Chemical agents, especially in their component forms are quite easy to conceal, and Iraq is a big country. Not to mention all the advance notice they had to get rid of much of the WMDs in question. Many of the most deadly chem agents are harmless until combined. A little goes a long way, they are very easy to conceal. Both the move into Iraq and the unConstitutional (in my opinion ) "Patriot Act" had Democratic pecker tracks galore. Somehow it became a totally Republican operation, and that is not true.

Well I would have to say that the Idea to invade Iraq
Was most definitely the Bush Administration's idea.

However this seems way off topic of the article that I provided the link to.
The article was referring to the Christian conservative right's preoccupation people's private lives (particularly with what they do ,and who they do it with in their bedrooms). All the while they were cheating and stealing millions of dollars from their respective organizations.
The people mentioned in the article were highly religious and outspoken with regards to their religious (Christian) ideologies.

I am curious as to your opinion .

I found the article, sadly, too believable. But individual examples of non-Christian behavior by those calling themselves Christian do not make all Christians hypocritical in their professed Faith. I view each, as with other groups, on their own merits, not on the actions of others. True Christians are a world apart from those professing to be Christians, but failing as such upon close examination. It is similar to SCOTUS Justice Potter Stewart, in 1964, described pornography by stating "I know it when I see it."

BTW, Justice Stewart attributed the quote to his law clerk. :wink:

You are probably asking the wrong person. I have never claimed to be a Christian. People can claim to be anything. I could claim to be a three-headed Martian. The people you mentioned are hardly representative of Christians, anymore than some hairball Televangelist could be considered to be so. You did mention the Iraq incursion, and the misnamed "Patriot Act." I might point out that one of the most conservative Senators, Rand Paul, and one of the most Liberal Representatives, Henry Waxman, both opposed this misguided legislation, probably the only thing they ever have or ever will agree on.
You asked for my opinion, and my opinion is the people you mentioned are chameleons. You are making a mistake by taking them at their word. I believe there is a Bible passage mentioning "by their fruits ye shall know them."
Many powerful people will claim to be adherents of a certain faith or political persuasion simply for a perceived advantage. They can change their religion or their politics as frequently as some people should change their underwear.
While your source was an interesting read, it was biased and poorly researched. (Not you, the author of the article ).

The Christian Conservative Right is no worse than the Amoral Liberal Left when it comes to hypocrisy. Some are sincere, others use religion or political viewpoints as an excuse for not thinking.

Yep, and I watched on CNN Iraq haul truckloads and truckloads of stuff to Syria, which I expect were wmd's, which some at CNN also thought until the DEMS stopped that nonsense.....the media was not dissing Bush, and that HAD to be stopped, so suddenly "Bush lied, people died". The same ho-hum the political left is pretty expert at. Lie like hell if it hurts republicans, AND if it also hurts democrats, well it's a good sacrifice.
