What if you aren't following Satan but have no desire for heaven. Isn't there someplace else where we can sit around an play spades and dominos and maybe smoke a joint every now and then? What about those of us who want nothing to do with either place but simply want to be left alone to live our lives in peace and peaceably...

Satan does not bother with people who believe this way.
That means you are already in bed with him.
No worries Peetee.
Hope that works out fer ya.

You are entitled to your beliefs.
Why would it matter to me what you think?

Seems to me that many more "Christians" follow the Quran than the Bible.

It is written that the devil got booted out of Heaven. However, if u are following him, u will not enter the gates of Heaven. It is written that, the only portal to Heaven is thru Jesus the Christ our Lord and savior.

Describe to me your idea of heaven.

I would really like to know. Because I just can't think of anything, or anywhere that I would want to be or do for eternity. All versions of Eternity eventually become torturous.

I think SATAN told you that to make you complacent.

And just how do you know what Satan, or god for that matter, bother with? From that book that was written by man? Shouldn't that tell you right there what's its worth!

I've wondered lately...
If someone were to decide they didn't want to stay in heaven, would they be allowed to leave?

I have sometimes wondered what if hell were actually like some kind of paradise. Satan gets everyone to believe that it's a lake of fire and demonic torture. Just to keep out the riff raff. And keep the crowd down so there's plenty of good times to go around . LOL! When you think about it.
The most interesting people would be the Atheist crowd . At least they all had independent minds, and didn't just follow the crowd. Atheists are the true free thinkers. Much more interesting group of people.

All do respect, one of the reasons that I abandoned my quest for god was the concept of heaven and hell--it just seemed too much like the bible was being used to control us visa vie punishment and reward. So given the fact that the bible is written by man it just seemed too obvious that religion was simply one way man used to control others. Believe whatever gives you comfort--for me that is a life that ends and we sleep just as we did before it all began...

All i know for a fact is i've seen the light of God and it is so beautiful, it made me look at myself and where i stood. I cud have turned and followed the light, but i wanted to go back into my body and be with my friends for a little while longer. My family was in need. However, if i see the light again, I will turn and follow. It is written what it will be like in Heaven, and it is written what it is like in hell and i dont think i cud ever tolerate being in hell. A person in this life has only two choices. Just make sure u choose the right one. I have to go shortly,. I have 3 hours of bible study this evening. But be back soon afterwards.

Just as a reminder, the Ten Commandments were written by the hands of God. Are u in disagreement with that?

And we know that how? You forget that Moses was once a Egyptian Prince and well versed in the laws of Ma'at for which you can find 8 of the 10 commandments. So did god write the ten commandments or did Moses simply write what he already knew? Your faith gives you one answer while my use of reason gives me another...

I had a stroke in 2010 and at one point was legally dead. The only thing I remember is coming out of my coma and trying to figure out where I was. There was no bright light only the realization of blacking out and then waking up not knowing what had occurred. I don't doubt your sincerity but I honestly don't think there is one reality for believers and another for those of us who don't.

And I don't think we have any choice anymore than we had a choice in being born. I know far too many people, even theists, who sincerely don't believe in Christ but are good, decent people, and a credit to society as a whole. God's going to condemn them to hell when their only sin is not believing in Christ? That is the type of action I would consider evil and such a god I want no part of...
