I would go a little further and claim that the Second Amendment also doesn't protect our right to bear arms. I believe it describes a right we already have (unalienable) and that We the People are entirely responsible for protecting that, and any other, right.
Continuing my annoying opinion, I don't believe the Second Amendment has anything to do with sport or hunting. I also don't think it has anything to do with personal protection. Those are side benefits. It has only to do with protecting We the People from tyrannical government. That is our huge responsibility as citizens. I don't see many who meet that responsibility these days, or even seem to recognize it.
Forums such as this one are encouraging. The folks who post here seem to have a more informed opinion than is now normal. Agree or disagree, I appreciate an informed opinion.

The argument that looser gun laws somehow lead to a reduction in crime is lie: LA proves this, as well as six other states. It is outright insanity!
