 YUP!!!!! I am a dyed in Wool, Gumbo cookin' Cajun gal. I miss being back down in Louisiana, but when Katrina hit where i was, my brother sent me up here to be with the rest of my family. I miss that good Toasty Hot Weather.
I lived in New Orleans until I was 7. My Dad went to Baptist Theological Seminary and had a church in Amite. I love Gumbo, red beans and rice, po boy sandwiches. I just love Cajun food and zydeco music. I enjoy the whole atmosphere of New Orleans. My Mom and I are going down in October. I was in Destin, Fl. on the beach when Katrina hit. It was pretty serious but more of a tropical storm. Five of us stayed in my bldg. I lost power for about 6 hrs. but otherwise did pretty good. My place is about 300 ft from the beach and on the seventh floor.
