I recently read an article about the money we donate (give) to offshore countries. It calculates to hundreds of billions of dollars. Maybe even trillions.
All these donations amount to the dollar amount that, if kept at home we could use for betterment of our own people.
If we were to use this money at home, we could afford to offer free medical care for everyone in the country, send our kids to college at no charge, dental and eye care for everyone, take care of our military wounded, house and feed our homeless and many other benefits for our own people.

Seems as though we never have enough money to take care of our own, but we can rebuild any other country. why do we need the wounded warriors fund in order to take care of our war hero's instead of the military taking care of them as they should. Wounded warriors organization is a great organization trying to make up for what our military should be doing.
There are so many other good organizations trying to make up for what our taxes should be going for, all by donations of course, through the good hearts of our people.

Each time there is a natural disaster in the world we are the first to respond to try to help with food, equipment and manpower, as perhaps we should. How many times have you seen other countries come here to help with our disasters? Not many.

I, for one, am sick and tired of higher taxes, loss of benefits, donating to very good fraternal organizations helping our less fortunate and many other things in order to donate these billions of dollars to countries and governments that love our money, but hate our guts. We pay them to have military bases on their lands etc. As far as I'm concerned, they need us more than we need them. They should be paying us. We're the laughing stock of the world and our Administration isn't smart enough to stop it.

Everyone knows we have very deserving and legitimate people needing help. Disregarding the abuse of the entitlement programs . We should be able to help them without borrowing money to do it or relying on the good hearts of volunteers.

It never seems to amaze me how completely stupid the administration and congress thinks the average public is.

Wake up ! We need to change things in a big way, starting at the top.

I know these comments are my personal rant and subject to all kinds of criticism. That's ok , I respect others right to their opinions.

Most of the money given abroad isn't actually "money given abroad." It's money given to a foreign entity to spend on American-made goods and services. (Say hi to Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE, etc.)

As for the disaster aid, it's pretty much the same thing. All equipment, all MREs, blankets, medicine... all that is American companies billing the US government.

So in effect, it's the US taxpayers placing orders with the US companies. It keeps the money at home and provides jobs.

Now, the question of would it be wiser to spend this money on special programs instead of payments to vendors -- I don't know. But please stop with the "we are giving away so much money" myth. The US Government isn't stupid. And, more importantly, the lobbyists aren't stupid. They wouldn't be lobbying for anything that centers around actually giving something away to someone if it didn't involve producing significant profit for their employers, which are US businesses.

So just what do we order from our own companies from Pakistan, Money we give to Egypt, The Muslim brotherhood, Africa, the president of Afganistan that keeps tapping our funds, Syria, etc.
Granted, funds are provided to support our people offshore.
Let the Co's doing business offshore fend for themselves. We should not fund them with our taxes. They should have to pay, as everyone else to bring their products back into the Country, which they are not.

KG has a severe left lean so you have to expect things like that if he/she gets into your thread.

To get even more specific--obamacare is going to cost approximately a trillion $. We have a population of roughly 300 million. Divide it out--you could GIVE each and every American over 3 million Dollars! How much medical care would that buy? Unlimited! But the bureaucracy has managed to turn that into high premiums, high deductibles, and high co-pays. Amazing! But--there will be 20,000 more IRS employees to spread that around.

I wonder how many people from the left lean know how many insurance executives were involved in the writing of that ACA abortion.

The thing that would dismantle the ACA is if absolutely no one would sign up. All they want is all your personal info to give the IRS so they can find, tax and control the public. They are too big for their pants now. Corruption dept. of the US.
Where in hell did common sense and guts go in our Congress?
Why is Obummer and Holter not impeached? Why are others not held accountable for violating laws and the Constitution?
Our congress committees are stuck in place by the fear of being called racist. What a bunch of bunk. I don't care if these people are red, blue, green yellow or black. If they behaved to these actions they should be held accountable.
Congress just committed us to another trillion dollars of debt in order to pay the bills they made. If we really look close, I wonder how much pork was added that we are responsible for that we don't know about. So much for transparency.

You are absolutely correct. But, trying to explain economics is difficult. It would be a surprise to some that taking inflation in consideration, the amount of outlay has not changed in the past 60 or so years. It is worthy of noting that Obama has proposed changes to foreign aid. One significant change was the share provided to Kenya. For an in-depth look into foreign assistance see: http://gbk.eads.usaidallnet.gov/data/detailed.html

I've got a question,?? Why is the FBI not investigate what happened to the $67 million that the IRS has lost, I wonder who's pocket this went in?

Isn't the FBI under the Attorney General's purview?Do you expect Eric Holder to investigate?

Why would we expect Holder to investigate this when he has refused to investigate anything else making the dictator look bad. It might cost him his share.
