You had better learn to shop.

My deductibles have not spiked. You are not telling us the whole story.

Read the article. Deductibles have spiked. Mine doubled to $6000.00

That means Obamacare has cost me $3000 in extra deductibles alone. My Out of Pocket doubled to $12,000 and my premium went up 15%. . And no more copay. We now have consumer managed healthcare. You pay the doctor visits

Richard open your mind and educate yourself. This is a disaster hurting most Americans. Tell me why you refuse to admit these known issues? Is it race? Are you defending Obama to the bitter end because of skin color? It must be because most of what you post is irrational and can only be explained by racial loyalty.

He should change insurance companies.

Insurance companies requiring higher out-of-pocket expenses to comply with new rules

Adam Weldzius, of Carpentersville, works as a nurse practitioner. If the 33-year-old single father wants the same level of health insurance coverage next year as what he has now with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals, his monthly premium of $233 will more than double.

Adam Weldzius, a nurse practitioner, considers himself better informed than most when it comes to the inner workings of health insurance. But even he wasn't prepared for the pocketbook hit he'll face next year under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

If the 33-year-old single father wants the same level of coverage next year as what he has now with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals, his monthly premium of $233 will more than double. If he wants to keep his monthly payments in check, the Carpentersville resident is looking at an annual deductible for himself and his 7-year-old daughter of $12,700, a more than threefold increase from $3,500 today

Keep shopping. There is much more to the situation than we are being told, at least in this forum.

Richard

You people are usually intelligent and especially good with numbers.

Now you tell me how you can add 30 Million uninsured (41.7 after amnesty) add many expensive options and it save everyone money? Someone has to pay for it and that is the middle class.

So let me comment here--most of negative posts here complain about a 'government' takeover! Almost all of that commentary also has a racist component despite what 'you' might think about your comments. If things were really the way some of you write about them we would indeed be in deep doo-doo. However-the Plutocrats/Oligarchy that are/is behind the turmoil in this country haven't yet succeeded in a complete takeover. Who do you think is really in charge of the Tea Party?. We do cast a vote for 'representatives' to vote for laws. But that is about as far as it goes for the 'people' having a say! The Republicans and Tea Party portion of Congress of the United States is a pawn of big business. They are controlled by 1% of the population. How often do you hear-this legislation is good for the people-or this law will benefit the working class from the Tea baggers or Flubdublicans?? All I hear from them is what 'it' will do for business and jobs! Huh-they (American banks and business)are sitting on mountains of cash ---so where are the jobs that 'business' is so good at creating? Hint: only jobs being created seem to be government sponsored or paid for by taxes (but that's another whole story). Republicans want to cut everything that so many Americans need (and paid for)-and yet they continue to fund and support wars that are outrageous imperialistic invasions that directly benefit that same Oligarchic few. All the while cutting taxes on themselves and sticking the working class with the nation's bill's. That's money that could be spent on you and I--like for 'dirty commie entitlements' and dirty 'socialis't social programs-heh-heh-heh-like schools and hospitals and golly--bridges and roads! So my fellow Americans who are the working class: do not buy their propaganda-'they' being the rich and powerful. They are not your buddies and they DO intend to see you working for peanuts and living in a box under the bridge. The/their methodology is right out of the Nazi/conservative playbook that is so familiar in history-always blame somebody else for your dirty work (and it seems to be working on too many of you). Then swoop in as saviors-heh-heh-heh-like Atilla the Hun, Ivan the Terrible, Genghis Khan and yup--that little turd Hitler. Liberal and progressive thought and action is NOT bad for the people-period-it is responsible for what we hold so dear in this country. Get yourselves educated about who and what is in your 'best self interests' and stop voting and supporting 'conservative rich despotic' ideas. You are being 'duped' (as in outright lied to) big time by these snake oil misrepresentations! In fact, liberal and progressive philosophies caused and have been responsible for what we got-what we hold most dear-and why we are 'sorta' free! And oh yea--IT IS A CLASS WAR!

You might be interested in reading the complete story in today's New York Times about the untold story concerning what ObamaCare is accomplishing.

In part, the story states: "What Obamacare has wrought is the kind of market-driven reformation that Republicans pretend to believe in. Which makes you wonder how much of their opposition rests on the merits, and how much is just a loathing for anything associated with Barack Obama."

The racist component to the rejection of ObamaCare has been evident for several years, despite holier-than-thou protestations of conservatives and Republicans to the contrary.

Here's the URL for the complete story. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/14/opinion/keller-obamacare-the-rest-of-the-story.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20131014

Richard,
You need to look at Obamacare a little more closely. (and BTW, I may be a racist too because I don't read the New York Times either-what a brilliant reason for calling someone a racist !)
Besides being an instrument to control the lives of just about everyone (except those the King exempted) it is a job killer, and income reducer due to shorter work weeks for people who work for those companies that can't afford the premiums or penalties and still stay in business. This, and the other taxes levied by this law will actually have the effect of reducing the federal revenue at a time when spending is rapidly increasing due to this law. This will have a disasterous effect on the jobs market and the federal deficit will balloon to an even greater impossible number for our kids.
After 5 years of this administration the number of unemployed, able bodied people still wanting to work and support their families are at a 35 year high. This law is a giant step in the wrong direction.
Another major purpose of this law is "income re-distribution" by letting the higher paid individuals pay for the lower paid individuals health insurance premiums, (differing subsidies for paying for the health insurance based on income as determined by the IRS).

Now put your thinking cap on and try to figure out what will s happen to the U. S. when all the government "subsidies" (Earned income tax credits, free cell phones, food stamps, questionable disability awarding, welfare, housing allowances, energy allowances, free health care premiums, and some not listed here) finally result in those not working living just as well as those who risked their home mortgage to start a business (and hire people), work 16 hours a day to keep it, and, those persons who saw some advantage to graduating from high school and going to college so they could earn more (and afford to pay for health insurance and other extras without government "transfers"). The money the government gives away has to first be taken away from someone else.
When the U.S. government gifting (for votes) reaches a certain point this country will no longer be a prosperous, free country and even the persons receiving the gifts will suffer. You become a "captive" when the government succeeds in degrading the economy to the condition that you must accept their "gifts" for survival. Looking at the national scene, the disregard for the constitution, the employment picture, and the ever increasing largesse of the government, I believe we are very close to the point of no return in becoming a "controlled" population (a necessary function for a socialistic society).
You need to objectively look at conditions around you and make up your mind and act accordingly now. It is Late in our country's travel to something you won't like.

What an insulting, incoherent collection of mish mash.
One thing I would like to comment on, your assertion that big business is a culprit. You are right, but, they are that only when the federal government works in conjunction with them such that the laws require their services/goods (a result of our federal reps and pres with the power accepting "campaign donations".
Without federal "help" businesses stay in business only because they provide the best service or product as voted on by your dollars that you choose to spend. Those that don't produce useful and economical goods go out of business (as long as they don't get federal subsidies and even then sometimes they fail - that solar panel company and the electric car company Obama gave money to?)
The role of the federal government is to enforce the anti-trust laws to see that there is legitimate competition in the market place. Competition produces the best products and services when you are "Free to Choose".
