A white artist painted a composition portraying the suffering and murder of a black man based on a real lynching. The final hours and the suffering of the poor soul was the subject. SO?, you might think; What's the big deal?
Well the *Big Deal* is the fact that the artist, Dana Shultz is <gasp!> white, and the subject is er, ah.. black.. so according to the outcry, especially from Hannah Black, that simply cannot be allowed!
And Mz Black has requested that the Whitney curators remove that painting and actually recommends that the painting be DESTROYED!
Her words as quoted from the Weekly Standard 4/10/2017 are:
"..the approbation of Black culture by non-black artists.." should not be allowed and the 'Painting Must Go!'."
So, according to that Mz. Black creature, if born white, you must not speak, paint, or ever think anything at all about the Black culture. (You were made unworthy by Ma Nature, buddy, get used to it and your art, writings, etc., must be burnt/destroyed.)
The First Amendment gets thrown out and creativity and free expression of all forms are forbidden if one is unfortunate enough to be born white.
And we all thought the art world was all 'touchy-feely'.
