Should not all government office holders, city to federal, be subjected to sporadic polygraph testing? Even government held t***hs need to be verified.

Not necessary. An accomplished liar can beat a polygraph without bribing anyone. Politicians are liars, some more accomplished than others. The ones who pass are the most practiced.

It only works on people that fear getting caught in a lie. Politicians don't care, so they never get caught with something like this. A true politician has no heart and hence no guilt. You have to be a honest person at heart to get caught by a lie detector and since a politician lives on lies, they know full well they will never be caught by a stupid machine. Hay, they fool the public every e******n don't they????

Quite an idea but the polygraph is used on those accused of crimes. The elected official would have to have been accused of a crime and polygraphed on ly on probable cause. Darned if I can't agree with you though

The Governor is the kingpin of state government. To v**e into office a governor, mayor, senator or state representative that do not posses uppermost the basic, humane quality of t***h and Justice for the people they represent is most certainly a crime in itself.
Independently administered, electronic polygraph testing would seem to be an appropriate method to help weed out self-serving, thieving government office holders that couldn't care less for the people they
Supposedly serve. This might be one way to start clearing the bums out.
Why not????

We expect our office holders to be a cut above in honesty and morality. Polygraphs would be a tool to insure honesty. I'm not sure of the legality of it and no doubt there would be a push back if this were to be a requirement. Still see your point

I'm thinking of polygraph testing on a voluntary bases---not compulsory,
Which, I agree, would not fly. But, those refusing to take the test would certainly be remembered on e******n day as untrustworthy, would they not?

In the real world, which we live, people have to do their jobs and to the best of their ability. from top to the bottom. If one doesn't , then the problems start. It isn't that our government are really all liars. It's they don't want to compromise. on what they think is right in their own minds.I don't call myself as a conservative , or a liberal. I'm both. I call myself a realist. sometimes it's whats best for the least. Then in another case. It might be what is best for the most. One thing for sure it takes money, wh**ever we decide. I mean our government. They need to keep talking, both sides.and they will work it out. that's why we put them in office. I always invested in government bonds. It would help me in the long run,And i never lost i dime. I could have invested in a lot of things, but that was my choice. It's all about money.that is the top & the bottom line.

If I had to take a polygraph to work in a 7/11 then why wouldnt any govt guy/gal have to do the same thing only have to take it at random three times a year. That outta keep them on the straight and narrow..
