Trump Just Bragged About New U.S. Ford Jobs. Ford’s Response Is GREAT

Today, yet again, President Trump jumped at the opportunity to take a victory lap on Twitter over news that a deal brokered under President Obama, long before he took office, will come to fruition soon.

The Ford Motor Company announced early Tuesday that it will invest $9 billion in facilities across the U.S., including three facilities in job-starved Michigan that will manufacture the new Ford Ranger and Bronco models.

Good news for everyone, to be sure, and Trump wasted no time taking to Twitter with this bit of chest pounding and implying, as usual, that he’s the one responsible.

he only problem? According to Ford itself:

“While Trump was quick to take credit for the investment, the plan is “consistent with what we announced previously,” Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s President of the Americas, told NBC News, noting that all three projects were in the works well before Trump took office — the largest, involving an $850 million assembly plant investment, approved as part of a deal with the United Auto Workers Union in 2015.”

Just a fraction Ford’s investment “announced” today constitutes new spending or job creation. Most of it is a just a confirmation of the deal worked out between Ford and the United Auto Workers back in 2015, under President Obama.

95 percent of $9 billion in U.S. investment is part of the 2015 agreement struck between the automaker and the UAW. Only $350 million represents additional investment, and $200 million of that has been set aside for a data center, not for facilities that will create the kind of manufacturing jobs Trump promised his base.

Without Obama, Trump wouldn't have any accomplishments to brag about at all. Sad...

Those who pay attention to such things, knew about Ford's plans early last year, well before the e******n.........because it was announced at a shareholders meeting. Ford specifically stated that these plans were going to happen, regardless of who won the WH. Once again, Trump shows how he achieved fame in reality TV and modest success in business - by taking credit for other people's success in reality TV and business.

Like obama didn't take credit for 'the successful END to the war in Iraq' when he completely vacuumed the U.S. out of there prematurely.
Yes it was a mistake to go in . . . but a bigger mistake to vacuum us out. Just to take the credit.

I'm not an expert on Ford's business, but I am an expert on mine. After Odumbo was elected, I have refused to invest in any business growth. It would have been futile in my line of business. You see, in order to make money in a business, your clients have to have extra income to pay for goods and services. That didn't happen under Obama. They were too busy paying for exorbitant insurances/penalties. No disposable income. You also have to be able to hire employees. Small businesses can't because of Obamacare. You can't hire employees because they can't afford Obamacare. That said, many sit at home with a gubmint check, or make money under the table. They have no choice, either. Like it or not, those are facts. I know a lot of business owners like me that are sitting on the sidelines until Trump gets a suitable grip on this Socialist tangent. Time will tell, and I will decide whether to sell out to corporate, or further invest in business growth for the future. Believe it or not (once again), that is why corporate America is still thriving, albeit on less profits. One thing is for sure: I won't invest until I see a better direction, and that means a lot of sales reps without sales.

You may want to think Obama rescued the economy, but from what I know and see on a daily basis, if he were able to get another four years, he would have buried us all alive...........
