History has proven to be redundant when we fail to pay attention.

“Those who do not learn from history, are bound to repeat the errors of history”
Hegel – German Philosopher

A sad t***h. Making a comparison between the Japan of World War Two, and radical Islam today forces us to face certain facts.

When America fought WWII, she actually fought two wars; the War of the Atlantic and the War of the Pacific.

The War of the Atlantic was the European War. The primary adversary was Germany. The Germans were brave soldiers ruled over by a dictatorial power. As the war came to a conclusion, more and more Germans were willing to surrender to US and Allied troops, as much as they were happy to escape the rule of the N**is over their lives.

The War of the Pacific was against Japan. Japan was a barbarous nation, in an economic bind.

Japan was overpopulated and lacked natural resources. Less than half of her land was amenable to agricultural production. She lacked not only enough food for her population, but the normal resources for a modern industrial nation.

For that reason, she earlier invaded the southern part of China and later, Indo China, today now Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

When Franklin Roosevelt ordered sanctions against Japan, they included oil and scrap metal which Japan relied on for the needs of their military establishment. Japan could not abandon what they had already worked so long to achieved, so the only answer was war with the United States.

The Military Hunta who ruled the nation decided on a war plan entitled the Greater East Asia Prosperity Sphere. They would invade and subsequently control all nations in the Pacific in proximity to Japan. This would solve their natural resource problem, as well as provide any and all materials for their military needs. Indonesia, as an example, maintained more than adequate oil resources for Japan’s exploitation.

In the 1930s, Japan’s invasion of China demonstrated a new type of barbarism. As a result of the Rape of Nanking, over one million Chinese men, women and children were butchered by Japanese Troops.

Japanese troops were trained under a distorted view of “Bushido”, the Code of the Samurai. It was distorted in the sense that the Samurai code was one of honor, self-discipline and service to others. But, the Japanese War Lords revised it for their own purposes resulting in soldiers that were immune to the pain and suffering of others, and their own brutal behavior. Troops were trained to destroy all dissent; to eradicate the culture of other countries they occupied.

Troops k**led without mercy, bayoneting mothers and their babies, and beating to death elderly Chinese men and women. Christian and other religious symbolism was plowed underground. Decapitation was especially encouraged by Japanese Officers. No officer could claim the title until he had decapitated so many individuals. American captive GIs were a favorite activity. Soldiers would send photos home to family and loved ones showing the executions to demonstrate that they were serving the Code of Bushido. Also, surrender was never an option with a Japanese soldier. It was better to die for the Emperor. Prisoners of War were considered cowards for not refusing surrender, and were treated accordingly.

So, while German Troops in Europe were flocking into American Zones to surrender, Japanese troops would arm themselves with bombs and detonate them k*****g themselves, when they got into American lines and pretending to surrender. When American troops realized the Japanese mentality, they became happy to oblige. Surrendering Japanese troops even at war’s end, were the exception to the rule.

Today, Japan is a modern and democratic nation, peaceful and prosperous. But, the lessons of history are here to remember.

Why is ISISs behavior any different?

They are unbelievably brutal. They make every effort to destroy the culture of the areas they occupy. They love to decapitate their victims. They refuse to surrender preferring to carry bombs on their person to detonate in the company of their victims, and k*****g themselves in the process to appease Allah.

The comparisons are frightingly similar.

Franklin Roosevelt and other Allied leaders rose up and destroyed the Japanese war effort. American GIs were given no choice but to k**l almost every soldier who fought under the Rising Sun.

We need to bring together an amalgamation or confederation of nations, western and eastern, and destroy ISIS and her mentors by every means possible, just as in WWII, The Atomic Bomb finally ended the WWII conflict in the Pacific. What we need today is resolution of our own people, our politicians and other peaceful nations to follow suit, and destroy this evil once and for all….without mercy….and if refusal to surrender is the only option…so be it. K**l or be k**led. We are dealing with a culture that evolved in the seventh century and has never advanced. Reasoning together is not an option.

“If history teaches us anything, it is that it teaches us nothing.”
George Santayana – American Author

“We are not makers of history. We are made by history.”
Martin Luther King

“The very concept of objective t***h is fading out of the world. Current lies will become future history.”
George Orwell – British Author

History has proven to be redundant when we fail to... (show quote)

After all these years, and 1000's of requests, no one has explained how ISIS resupplies with arms and ammunition. The material obtained from the Iraqi army all those years ago, would have been expended within the first year - so - where are they getting new supplies? How are they restocking? Who is supplying it? We know they were using stolen oil revenues to buy arms, the Govt. told us that - but didn't explain from WHERE, or from WHOM.

To cut off the resupply of the Japanese held Islands, we used Submarines and aircraft to sink supply ships, but we knew where they were coming FROM and where they were going TO, so they were fairly easy to find. We have 100's of satellites orbiting the Earth, looking at everything imaginable - but can't seem to find the convoys resupplying ISIS. There is far more going on than we are being told.

Your comment reminds me of the comic strip POGO that was run years ago. You might remember I GO POGO. The famous quote was, " We have discovered the enemy, and it is US."

History has proven to be redundant when we fail to... (show quote)

===========================
It is true that WW2 was war by Allied Forces between Germany and war in the Pacific with Japan. Both of these countries were all defeated. Allied lead by Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, when Churchill sought aid from President Roosevelt. The wars brought so much tragedy and sufferings to the Allied forces but triumphant after the defeat of N**ism. Europe was saved. .

While Europe was raging its war on Germany, the Pacific rages, attacked by Japan on all fronts. The Philippines, Vietnam, China, and the surrounding countries were under sieged by the Empire of Japan. The US Forces in the Pacific was lead by Gen. Douglas McArthur, when he was recalled to duty in 1941.

During the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, McArthur's forces were compelled to withdraw Bataan, where they were held out until 1942. McArthur, his family and staff left Corregidor in PT boats and escaped to Australia.

He became Supreme Commander of Southeast Pacific Area. He was awarded Medal of Honor. After two years of fighting in the Pacific he fulfilled his promise to return to the Philippines, and took back the country from the Japanese imperialism. He officially accepted Japan's surrender on Sept. 1945.

The Best thing that happened after Japan's surrender, Japan was t***sformed to be more civilized and joined the West to advance their economy and technology. US had kept US troops in Japan for security. Japan now is one of the most advanced countries in the world both in economy and technology. Now Japan is our ally, and loyal friends.

Unlike Muslims, they will always remain barbaric no matter how much aids and help you do you them. Their only purpose was to k**l the unbelievers as ordered in the Quran, Hadith, as commanded by Mohammad they worship as god and prophet. Goal is to conquer the whole world as ordered by Mohammad. That is why Muslims are called Mohammedans.
