This is an interesting device that may come into use by some specialized police agencies. Cool video.

How come it took so long for someone to invent that. That should put an end to long hi speed chases. Specialized police agencies?? How about any police agency that has a car – with very good brakes.

It surely must have weight constraints that is why they go after Yugo's, Prius and electric cars mostly. You know the vehicles California's liberals love driving. Works for me that way.

I wonder if they carry haz-mat cleanup kits in their patrol cars just in case they use it on a motorcyclist.
I would imagine there would be a line of stool and urine samples leading up to the perp!

If they did it to me while on the Harley they would never be capable of stopping me while sliding around on the slick waste material I would leave behind.

Kind of makes me wonder why street cops haven't adopted something like the Argentinean cowboy bolas to tackle fleeing suspects. It's three weighted balls connected with lines up to three feet long which is thrown at the feet causing them to stumble and struggle. Cruel and unusual I suppose.

Cruel and unusual yes ( at least to some who think shooting them is better ) not to mention we do not need the cops playing with their balls any more than necessary now do we. We used to use something similar to the Bolas on the reservation to capture/control animals and they worked as well on people while escaping custody. We did have more leniency on the reservation as to what we could do compared to working as city cops, sovereign nation and all that jazz.

Unusual maybe, but certainly not cruel.

The cruel and unusual part would be trying to untangle them after!

That was really cool. I had heard of some devices that were being tested but did not know about any of them.
