trump weekend

This dick will never allow a dime to the needy but never think of not spending your money for his weekend..

The Washington Post noted a health care anecdote out of Nashville that I read three times, just to make sure I wasn’t getting it wrong.
Soon after Charla McComic’s son lost his job, his health-insurance premium dropped from $567 per month to just $88, a “blessing from God” that she believes was made possible by President Trump.

“I think it was just because of the tax credit,” said McComic, 52, a former first-grade teacher who traveled to Trump’s Wednesday night rally in Nashville from Lexington, Tenn., with her daughter, mother, aunt and cousin.

The price change was actually thanks to a subsidy made possible by former president Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act, which is still in place, not by the tax credits proposed by Republicans as part of the health-care bill still being considered by Congress.
This is quite a moment. We’ve reached the point at which some conservatives decide they like Obamacare so much that they’re inclined to give Trump credit for it.

It reinforces the idea, voiced by many in recent weeks, that Republicans could very easily write up some superficial changes to the Affordable Care Act, put it in the form of legislation, pass it, and wait for v**ers – most of whom are increasingly fond of the ACA – to thank them.

This could effectively be the health care version of George Aiken’s famous paraphrase from the Vietnam era: Declare victory and go home.

GOP policymakers obviously intend to go in a very different direction, targeting benefits that many Trump v**ers currently want and enjoy. What’s unclear is what they’ll think if that happens.

The woman the Post spoke to in Tennessee went on to say she trusts Trump not to curtail her family’s benefits, and she hopes “more and more people” get coverage through the Republican legislation.

Except, we know - and Republicans concede – that the exact opposite is true: “more and more people” will be uninsured as a result of the bill some are calling “Trumpcare.” And while I’m skeptical the GOP plan will become law, I remain curious what the president’s die-hard supporters will think if Trump leaves them in much worse shape than they’re in now.

My hunch is, most will turn on him. As we discussed the other day, the Republican made all kinds of promises to these folks, well aware of what’s popular and what they wanted to hear. If he ends up pulling the rug out from under them, they’re going to notice – and White House spin won’t obscure their health care reality.

Despite vowing during his campaign that he “would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done” and “would not be a president who took vacations” because “you don’t have time to take time off,” Trump has visited Trump-branded properties each of the past six weekends. That streak will hit seven when Trump lands at Mar-a-Lago later Friday.
In fact, Trump has spent time at Trump-branded property every weekend of his presidency other than the very first, when he created chaos throughout the country by signing a Muslim ban executive order that was later stayed by a federal court.
Let’s run through them.
February 4–5: Trump heads to Mar-a-Lago for the first time as president. There, he and Melania attend a “Vienna to Versailles” black tie Red Cross Ball that was closed to the media (Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross was in attendance, however).
President Trump’s inaugural appearance at Mar-a-Lago comes just days after the Trump Organization announces the club’s initiation fees are doubling to $200,000 (taxes and $14,000 annual dues not included).

February 11–12: Trump travels to Mar-a-Lago for the second consecutive weekend. His guest is Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe. On Saturday night, Trump and Abe deal with a North Korea missile crisis in full view of diners on one of the club’s terraces, with national security documents illuminated by aides’ cell phones.

February 18–19: The president heads to Mar-a-Lago yet again. While there, Trump, who repeatedly criticized Obama for playing golf while president, enjoys his sixth golf outing during his first month in office. In a sign that he might feel a bit guilty, the White House is later forced to admit that officials initially misled reporters about the amount of golf Trump played during his 18-hole excursion with pro golfer Rory McIlroy.
The roughly $10 million Trump has already spent on unnecessary travel approaches the $12 million President Obama spent each year.

So the young man was paying almost $600 a month for Obamacare, or almost $7000 annually, and now unemployed he pays about $90 a month or about $1000 a year with what deductibles? Either way this is not affordable. At the lower unemployed rate the premium is being made up with other peoples money, likely the very same ones who play at the Trump golf clubs.....who are presented as villains in the story.
