If we stick strictly to the counter-points of Intelligent Design to Evolutionary Theory, we are easily won over. Keeping both in the abstract is useful for debate but not for the t***h. Intelligent design means the purposeful inclusion of genetic disorders. It means direct orders for children to suffer incredible pain, to endure pain beyond our comprehension by the nature their DNA. Then look at the rest of Nature. If we want to make Adam and Eve to blame for the introduction of sin that caused all this, then God is just a thin-skinned hypocrite without saving grace.

OK. I'll bite. What are the counter-points of intelligent design to evolutionary theory? I know this debate exists, but I've never actually seen an argument either way, so edjumicate me.

There is no question that life is intelligently designed. Anyone not able to see that is intellectually incapable of engaging in this debate meaningfully. The question is who is doing the designing, not is there design.

My point was more philosophical or theological than scientific. If this planet was developed by Intelligent Design, what could we say about that intelligence? Disease, genetic disorders, predator and prey, aging and death, psychopaths and sociopaths; ambition, p***e, greed, h**e, intolerance, wanton desires, oppression and so forth for its conscious gem? Clockwork Orange Intelligence? In the abstract, Intelligent Design has a good hearing. In reality, it is the worst horror story ever written.
