Here at assisted living, there is a huge effort to keep the residents entertained/happy/content, wh**ever.
As part of the things to do is a perfectly lovely pool table. Most of the residents here are ladies and as such not a lot of demand for the table. Seeing this and to catch a few games, I thought I would teach the wife (an 85 year old darling)to play.
Is there any advice out there as to how this might be accomplished. Do recall, she has never played except what I have been able to teach her. She does know which end of the cue to use (now). She can also recognize the cue ball. Other than that, the rest of the game is pretty much a mystery. Any help?

Stripes OR solids, don't hit the black one until the end.

The simple bridge: hand flat on the table and the cue resting on the gap between thumb and other four fingers. Repeat over and over instructions about bringing it straight back: practice, practice, practice. Then tell her the ball she is aiming at is your head that day you hurt her feelings and can put you in the side pocket of hell, if she wants. It usually works.
