Those insurance executives had their pictures taken with the President - who promptly forgot what they were talking about.

Why not ask medical professionals how to reduce PROVIDER costs?

Here's the real t***h: If the medical care we receive is cheaper - so is the insurance that pays for it. That's a no brainer right? Then why - are we ONLY talking about insurance?

Allowing Dr.'s and other professionals to treat patients, rather than the patients pay source, will save time and money automatically. Barring drug and medical supply companies from marketing ( read: lobby ) Dr.'s directly, will save money and patients lives.

Did you know that a hospitals billing department is as large as the Nursing department, and sometimes even larger? There are 1000's of plans, from dozens of carriers, each with it's own unique billing requirements. 1/3 of Medicare's costs are administrative services, as each State has unique Medicare rules and each State has many Medicare districts with their own unique rules, leaving them with 100's of different "plans" to contend with.

Legislators ( read:lawyers ) should not be determining medical practices - but they do with their stupid rules and regulations.

The answer is 'Freedom'.

Regulations are necessary to keep the nut-bags from practicing Voo-Doo medicine. But I agree that we're way over the top on regs.

Freedom to purchase across state lines will help.

Freedom to have MSAs will help a lot more. The free market (AKA: Freedom) is the solution, not the problem.

I am sure that I would get the absolute t***h, and honest answers from my insurance company (which happens to be Humana, who happens to be screwing me), in a private, one on one telephone conversation about health care and cost. Daa..
Don't you understand I want them front and center, on national television, setting all of these prices, price increases, actual cost, and profit margins IN STONE! Daa!!
Your kind of sarcastic answers are exactly what we are getting now from the politicians now super dumbass. Daa!!

Are you confusing MedicAid with MediCare? Since MedicAid is State while MediCare is Federal.
