Trump meets with Obamacare victims

These people have been victimized by the raises in premium prices and by the monstrously large amounts of deductions that they had to pay. Trump says that it may be best to allow the system to die of its own problems rather than to repeal the whole thing. I am one who agrees with that no matter what far right Republicans think.

I'm inclined to agree the first time I heard OUR President Trump reference this fact in his interview with David Muir(sp) back in January. Let it explode and build anew.

As a MediCare recipient for 15+ years, ObamaCare has caused less coverage at a higher cost. Humana dropped out at the end of 2016. I have yet to check my other option, if there is even one left as my MediCare replacement plan option.

oldroy-agree that it is better to slow down and ensure that what is passed is exactly what is needed as the GOP
will own it lock-stock and barrel. If they lose either the house or senate in 2018 that will be the end of Trump's agenda as nothing will get through congress. Better late than never. Right now they act as though the house is on fire and something has to happen immediately. Let the ACA implode and be ready with a safety net (medicaid) to cover people temporarily until the right plan is crafted and implemented. America First !!!

Of course, you are talking about Medicare Part D, aren't you lady?

That's all I have now, Part D in addition to Part A and Part B, the death insurance. My drug co-pay has increased, not much, but increase just the same.

On the "replacement" MediCare plan (Coventry), in 2007, I paid nothing for two total hip replacement surgeries and re-hab. I had first time pneumonia last spring, one week in hospital and an $8,000 (about 3/4 yearly income) bill due under Humana's replacement plan. It seems imsurance does not cross county lines either. At least in Kansas, it goes by region, apparently. I moved in 2013, thus I lost Coventry for they only offered a "supplement" plan in the new county.

ObamaCare f*cked it all up, imho.

The ACA had nothing to do with this. It was a function of Humana. Medicare is not perfect, but I have yet to meet a Republican who understood their plan who had a complaint. Unexpected events, unintended consequeces. You chose to move without doing your homework and now pay the price. Free markets at work. Really am sorry for the angst, but it was your choice, not Medicare.

Since you are completely ignorant to the reasons behind my move, it was not "my choice" to move. My complaint is not with Humana, and they have since dropped the "Gold" plan coverage on 12/31/2016. There were very few choices (maybe 2) when I signed on with this plan two years ago. .

Also, my "spenddown" with MedicAid increased by about $1,000. An amount, of nearly $4,000, out-of-pocket, which must be incurred within a 6 month period before MedicAid will kick-in. Due to re-vamping of the medicAid system, I was kicked off of my spenddown and did not know it until I finally made to the doctor's to learn my card was "inactive", to keep track of costs. I have been trying for a year to get back on the "spenddown", but due to all the re-vamping for ObamaCare, this process still is not done. I even submitted my application (3/2016) the "speedier" way via the internet. No longer can one apply for MedicAid at the local welfare office. It must be done at the State Office level.

I'm sorry, but you will never convince me that ObamaCare had no affect on MediCare. Coverage and choices have declined since ObamaCare came into existance.

Again, sorry about the trauma our screwed up healthcare system has caused. Unfortunately, most of it from the accounting office, is driven solely by profit. Near the end of 2016 a daughter-in-law "needed" surgery, the specifics of which now elude me. The surgeon said he was not available until 2017. At the time she contacted him the family had reached the deductible level and it would cost her nothing. What the insurance company was trying to do was delay the surgery so they were off the hook for paying for the procedure and the family would have been responsible for the entire amount. That had nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act, but going toward paying United Healthcare's CEO a small slice of his millions of salary. T

To me there are only two solutions: a single-payer system or a cash only (no insurance company involvement) health care. Regarding the latter: Shortly after WWII would family moved into a home next to a country doctor in northwestern Illinois. We lived there only about six months before moving from town to country, but during those months mom would bake Doc Shenberger, a widower, a cake or apple pie. When I was about 15 I severely cut a finger on my left hand while cutting weeds with a sickle. I drove into town to have Doc Shenberger stitch it shut. When done I asked him how much it would cost. His response resonates with me over sixty years later, "Hell, boy. I don't charge my neighbors. The next time you come into town bring me one of your mother's apple pies--(the crusts of which were to die for). Hope you are able to procure some affordable health insurance, but do not rely upon receiving it through Ryan and McConnell..

ObamaCare needs to be trashed. I do not trust Ryan, McConnell or McCain, the worst. I don't trust any of them, frankly. Except OUR President Trump, he has yet to disappoint me. The new HealthCare will determine if that changes or not. They need to scrap ObamaCare, or let it explode/implode, and build anew.

I have been on Medicare without complaint since late 1998, until ObamaCare descended upon an already working system. The only 2 good things I see in ObamaCare is the Age 26 Rule (while I find the age itself an odd number) and the pre-condition mandate. It's harder to find a doctor and as you said, wait time. It seems another issue is the facilities and doctors getting paid for their services in a timely fashion. Thus the issue, "We don't accept MedicAid.

My experience, I sought services for statis reasons. The facility did not accept my Humana,. Nor would they view me as "uninsured" for the sliding scale based on income. Oddly, through a grant at this same facility, I am still provided a "service" that gets me to the store and helped me physically move into a new place (after 4 years of roaming with intermittent homelessness) through their Homeless Outreach Service. I am most grateful for my "case manager". He's my hero!

Of President Trump's cabinet, I find Banner and Tillerson fasinating, his son-in-law too. It will be lovely to watch Melena(sp) grow in her role as First Lady. I have read she speaks 5 languages. No doubt an asset in her position. While my Liberal friends seem to like Ivanka. I hear her SS name is Marvel, with Mogul and Muse.

I think your disappointment should be more with Humana--which I avoid at all costs--than Medicare. Have had Medicare for about ten years with no complaints--no premium, reasonable copays, minimal prescription payments. Have had to make some compromises, but that is to be expected. I assume you live in a rural area with minimal options. That complicates things and may make traditional Medicare a better choice than a Medicare Advantage plan, which does have some limitations.

The plan was good. The plan options are now gone. I hear Coventry is available, but in 2013/2014, only their 'supplement' plan was offered. Coventry was my replacement plan when I lived in Johnson County, a metro area. One county over where I now live, only their supplement plan was offered.

I will find out about basic MediCare this year. I'm done until they straighten it out. Since SCOTUS was involved with ObamaCare, I'm believe it is too 'fixed' to be...fixed. Obama knew it too, being the Constitutional scholar that claimed to be.
