Cuts were based on the sequester. If congress hadn't decided on sequestration the military wouldn't have been cut. The Budget Control Act included $1.2 trillion in cuts and formed a joint House and Senate super-committee to find another $1.2 trillion by Nov. 23, 2011. You can't continue to spend on the military when you are forced to shrink the budget by 2.4 trillion dollars.

This all came about because you repugnants decided not to increase the debt ceiling. Well you got what you wanted so you really should stop crying about it...

Well Pete, hard to see a question with all that incoherent ramblings....just saying.

There are a thousand reasons as to why, the biggest being the unavoidable presence of our federal gov being involved with the spending.....i see this daily being employed by a private defense contractor........i see unbelievable waste, idle employees drawing large salaries that would be sent home working in any other field, or layed off for lack of work.....i could go on and on with the federal maze of money sucking.

I readily admitnto being one of those burdens, if there is a delay due to the red tape involved......i have set on my ass for many months at a time, my company still charges for my time.....to play on this forum, long lunches, kayak trips.....or just my disappearing act due to boredom. .. there are thousands like me, probably hundreds of thousands across this country.

Hear are some words from the Army itself about its size from the link. Under former President Barack Obama, the largest branch of the military, the U.S. Army, pink-slipped tens of thousands of soldiers in the name of budget constraints, a move that ultimately shrunk the Army to its smallest level since to World War II.

A couple of paragraphs below that one are he words of naval commanders who say that our Navy is now smaller than it has been in the last 99 years. That is so unbelievable for leaners like you though, isn't it? I know that most c*******ts the world round would like to see our military even smaller. You aren't one of those, are you?
