Now to democrats there is no surprise in the NY Time's assessment. Trump has probably been the least prepared candidate of all times without anything ready to go. At this stage George W had his tax cut passed, Obama had a whole slew of legislation passed; with Trump though, nothing he proposed was beyond the rhetoric phase and hell, if conservatives are going to point to Trump's EO's at this same point in time Obama had implemented more. It's clear that Trump didn't think he was going to win but the real head scratcher is why Trump did nothing during the t***sition to get his administration ready to govern. Did he not know that at some point he would have to assume the role of president?

The New York Times on Saturday published a blistering assessment of President Trump's performance, blasting him for a lack of meaningful accomplishments.

"It’s with a whiff of desperation that President Trump insists these days that he’s the chief executive Washington needs, the decisive dealmaker who, as he said during the campaign, 'alone can fix it,' " The Times wrote in its editorial.

"What America has seen so far is an inept White House led by a celebrity apprentice."

The newspaper's editorial board argued that Trump's executive orders are not achievements and that the president has not yet been able to spearhead any meaningful reform effort.

"When Mr. Trump’s assistants can keep the edge of panic out of their voices, they insist that Mr. Trump has gotten more done in the early going than most presidents. And Mr. Trump is so adept at creating smoke that Americans might be forgiven for thinking that’s true," the Times wrote.

"[T]he president confuses executive orders with achievements."

The editorial board claimed that Trump's adviser Steve Bannon writes his script while Reince Priebus, the White House chief of staff, "crashes meetings to which he has not been invited."

"The White House is a toxic mix of ideology, inexperience and rivalries; insiders say tantrums are nearly as common as the spelling errors in the press office’s news releases," the Times said.

"If there is any upside here, it is that the administration’s ineptitude has so far spared the nation from a wholesale dismantling of major laws, including the Affordable Care Act, though he may yet k**l the law through malign neglect."

The Times also criticized the president for planning to partially dismantle top government agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, which employs a vast team of specialists and experts.

"Indeed, unless Mr. Trump can bring some semblance of order to his official household and governing style, the only element of his famous campaign pledge that may prove accurate is the 'alone' part," the newspaper concluded.

How anyone can seriously quote anything from the New York Times escapes me. That paper (if you can call it that) has become a total joke.

So what? Who cares what the NYT says or thinks? If they don't like it, it must be good but frankly I'm not even interested enough waste the time.

I do not always agree with various editorials in the NY Times but this one is essentially accurate. Mr Trump is woefully unprepared for the job he was unexpectedly elected to and his ardent supporters notwithstanding his Presidency is an unmitigated disaster. The hope that he can turn his ship away from the iceberg in time grows thinner by the day.

That paper will soon be gone. No one with any sense can believe anything they read there. I'm s**k of everybody tearing Trump apart. If you wanna know who stepped into and out of the White House with no idea of how to govern this country and spent eight years with no one trying to impeach him, it was that Indonesian guy, Barry Soetoro.

Unfortunately it won't be any time soon. Just think of all the millions of liberals who blindly swallow their garbage, especially in New York.

HAHAHA! Trump's doing fine! He's getting a lot done despite all your efforts to sabotage him...and he's gaining converts. Could you possibly exhibit a little more condescension and false superiority?

Dubious that an established newspaper like the NYT will "soon be gone" but OPP is a generous place to post such hyperbole.
As for people "tearing Trump apart" his inept peevishly defensive reactive response to the realities of his job has earned the contempt and derision of the majority of the watching public. Too bad. He could have capitalized on his unlikely win and gone to work on much needed tax reform and upgrading and improving on ACA. Instead he shows up as a thin skinned tantruming toddler-in-chief with a chip on his shoulder about media criticism. Too easily distracted by minor issues mostly affecting his malnourished ego he is flailing in his response to serious domestic and international issues.
Obama was a far from perfect President but day by day he is starting to look saintly alongside his
floundering successor.

The "undecideds" and "never-v**eds" are watching the Dems get taken over by the loony Diaper People throwing paid-for s**t hissies on camera. They're hearing all the crazy, hysterical accusations and they're tuning out. Not to mention the unions coming over to Trump. This will be fresh in people's minds in 2018. And a lot of folks, an increasing number by some accounts, think Trump is doing fine despite all the loony opposition. Seems to me like the more they attack him, the bigger his support gets.

What's weird is that all that stuff you dislike about him is not making him less popular. Why is that?

Doing Fine would be an unlikely consensus unless you cling to fringe opinion media to support your narrative. Seems like I talk to a lot people who are already apologetic for v****g for him but I freely concede that is impressionistic at this point. As far as condescension what would you prefer? My wish for all Presidents is they succeed for all of our sake. You mistakenly read false superiority for an attempt at reasonable objectivity.
