On this occasion and on this topic Marine Le Pen is absolutely correct.

Bashar Assad has been much maligned, and unjustly so.

Dr Bashar, as he was known at the Western Eye clinic at London’s St Mary’s Hospital, where he trained as an eye surgeon, is remembered as ‘a sensitive young man who was incredibly polite and punctual’.

‘Everyone who worked with him found him that way,’ He wasn’t arrogant. You would never have guessed he was a president’s son.

‘He was quiet and never really spoke about his family. But if anyone asked him a direct question he very politely answered it honestly.’

Assad spent his time in London, living on his own in a rented flat, avoiding any obvious signs that he was the son of a powerful Middle Eastern ruler. He was fond of Phil Collins and Whitney Houston music, and thrilled by technology and computers.

But in 1994, after the death of his older brother Basel in a car crash, Bashar was recalled to Syria and g***med for the role of President by his father and former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In June 2000, after the death of his father, he took over the role of leader.

At first he attempted to introduce modern, democratic reforms, but a 7th century bloodthirsty group of opponents calling themselves ISIS have attempted to seize his country and with no assistance from the Western nations, he has fought back with the weapons and allies he could muster together.

Right-winged French p**********l candidate Marine Le Pen recently visited Lebanon, holding her first campaign meeting with a head of state.

During her two-day visit, Le Pen, a leading candidate in France’s upcoming e******n, called Syrian President Bashar Assad “the most reassuring solution for France” and stated the best way to protect minority Christians is to “eradicate” the Islamic State group that is preying on them. Le Pen doesn’t believe turning them into refugees will help in the long run.

This trip represents Le Pen’s first major venture into foreign policy. AP reports that Le Pen has worked hard to “clean up the r****t and anti-Semitic image of her party. She is running on an anti-immigration and anti-European Union platform.”

During her visit, she told Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri that there is “no viable and workable solution” to the Syrian civil war other than choosing between Assad and the Islamic State: “I clearly explained that in the political picture the least bad option is politically realistic. It appears that Bashar al Assad is evidently today the most reassuring solution for France.”

Le Pen’s pro-Assad stance represents a major divergence from official French policy and the policy of Hariri, who is currently allied with Saudi Arabia against the Syrian government.

Le Pan also met with Lebanon’s president, Michel Aoun, who also supports Assad. Le Pen reported that her and Aoun agreed during the meeting that France and Lebanon should be “pillars” in organizing the fight against Islamic fundamentalism.

During her visit, Le Pen met with the Christian Maronite patriarch.

Le Pan spoke out in favor of protecting Christian minorities, saying, “the way to protect the Christian minority is to eradicate those who have a vision of destroying all the minorities…

For me to protect Christians is to make sure the Christians stay in their countries” not become refugees.

Marine Le Pen is an extraordinarily clear thinking politician and a great French patriot. If I were a Frenchman I would be campaigning for her.

France is very much in need of a new Joan of Arc (French: Jeanne d'Arc) at present, aren't they?

She was burned at the stake on 30 May 1431, almost 600 years ago, dying at the age of nineteen years of age.

I would very much like to see Marine Le Pen take power in France.

They need an injection of clear eyed vision and common sense.
