It seem 10 million gallons of oil from the Deep Water Horizon blowout has been found on the bottom of the ocean. Now my question is--should British Petroleum be required to recover the oil? After all they are the ones who put it there so it seems only reasonable that they should be the ones who have to clean it up...no?

God has been spewing "millions {billions?} of gallons of oil" {crude}, from the ocean floor since the beginning of time, pecker; and "WE" found a GREAT way to use it!!! Too bad YOU never got on the "train;" and it may be a thousand years {Biblically speaking}, before you-all get another chance. But be nice!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT "45" DONALD J. TRUMP!!!

Although Momma nature bubbles up this bounty of energy quite often.....if it can be proven that this is BP oil from their epic failure. ....yes, it should be their problem and all costs associated belong to them.

Seems to me they already paid for the cleanup several times over:

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jul/02/bp-will-pay-largest-environmental-fine-in-us-history-for-gulf-oil-spill

BP paid $18.7bn after the justice department and four states sued. The money was divided among states and earmarked for cleanup projects. I believe this counts as a cleanup project.

Of course, the money wasn't actually placed in an account and marked 'for cleanup only', so it's long gone by now, having migrated ever so slowly but ever so surely into the general funds and been replaced by a stack of 'IOU's'. Since it's already spent, they think they can go to BP for yet another haircut? Hardly.

Oil seeps out of the ground both above and below the oceans naturally. It's been that way for millions if not billions of years. A few million gallons at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico is a fairly insignificant event. Still, it's another opportunity to give BP yet another haircut and 'stimulate' governments at both Federal and State levels yet again. Maybe we should monitor natural seepage and send the bill to God for polluting the oceans, eh? After all, there are laws about this sort of thing...
