The federal court for the Eastern District of New York issued an emergency stay halting deportations under President Donald Trump’s executive order banning entry to the US from seven majority-Muslim countries tonight, following widespread protests at airports around the country.

You can read the full text of the stay here.

The court order prevents the government from sending immigrants back to their home countries because it would cause them “irreparable harm,” but it is unclear if they will have to remain in detention until a substantive ruling on the constitutionality of the ban is delivered. “If someone is not being released, I guess I’ll just hear from you,” Judge Ann Donnelly told the plaintiff’s lawyers, according to the New York Times.

People affected by the order with valid greencards and visas who were not in t***sit at the time are still likely stuck abroad, but there’s now at least a time frame for a further ruling on the ban.

Common sense and decency should have halted it first.

Nothing has been changed. The order only affects those few in t***sit when the ban went into effect.

The ban is entirely Constitutional and is based on a law in effect since 1952.

What are you an i***t?

Have you learned nothing from eight years of Obama?

This is a temporary stay.
It only stops it until the case can be brought before the court.
Trump can win his case, which puts things back on track.

Or if congress writes it into law, then the courts have nothing to say.
Who has the majority in Congress?

The worst case scenario is that it goes before the Supreme Court.
Who's picking the Supreme Court justices?

Your cackling over nothing.

He is using the laws already approved by Congress. Those in detention are those that shouldn't be here in the first place.

I find it absurd, what has taken place at the airports. Who are these people, and why do they think America should be open to anyone wanting to come here? I doubt very much that their own countries have a policy that would allow hoards to just waltz in. The mentality of those who think they ought to be able to enter without restrictions, and those who support them, apparently feel they are entitled to just enter one's home and set themselves down at the table uninvited, for I don't see much difference in either action.

What our President did is in keeping with law, specifically: "Federal i*********n l*w also includes Section 1182(f), which states: “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Or a wanna be American mislead and brainwashed thinking you will be treated different than the infidel American deplorable's .. Do not misunderstand me , not all Muslim's are terrorist , but all terrorist are Muslims .. Whoops ,, I must correct myself .. apparently once a immigrant gets here they do have certain right's ,, yes I was wrong on that point ..

DHS will continue to enforce Trump's travel ban
The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement early Sunday saying that they plan on continuing to “enforce all of the president’s executive orders in a manner that ensures the safety and security of the American people.”

I agree...amazing how many in here always find punitive actions constitutional...but when Obama, the Constitutional Law Professor took an action, it was deemed unconstitutional...period.

Oh I see.....................so as the Islamist descended on the Christians, k*****g, raping and beheading the Christian men, women and children, the surviving Christians were cheering the k*****g, raping and beheading of those Christians, as they waited their turn, to be raped and beheaded????

Do you ever listen to yourself before you open your mouth?

Do you have any sense of reality at all?
