On The Boycott of Trump's Inauguration

This is perhaps the best response that I have read on this subject:

"Their boycott is a blatant act of self-aggrandizement. Let them demonstrate the depth of their convictions by refusing to entertain in America. Their financial losses would be tremendous. As for those holding government offices, let them resign in protest. To remain part of a government whose leader they view as illegitimate would be egocentric at best and hypocritical at worse.

B Street Band withdraws from inaugural ball (Picture of band omitted)

Bruce Springsteen's music will not soundtrack Donald Trump's inaugural celebrations after all

Predictably, America will remain the prime revenue venue for these entertainers, and our government will continue to be the penultimate dais from which these bloviators will spin their empty rhetoric.

If the five living presidents and, most notably, Hillary Clinton will be at the inauguration, what solid rationale do these lesser officials and entertainers have to stay away?

The e******n is over. A peaceful t******r of p***r will soon take place. It's time for everyone to renew their membership in Team America."

These t*****rs will soon fade into oblivion.

Trump will be making history while they will be forgotten.

Do we really give a diddly squat about who isn't attending the inauguration ?

No.

We only care about making America great.

The only reason I care is so I know who the t*****rs and cry babies are. Hopefully their little stunt will lose them their seats in the next e******n. They are showing the people just how petty they are and that they care more for their personal agendas than this Country.I guess they didn't learn anything in the e******n.

I would hope that someone on Trumps team has suggested that he acknowledge his detractors in his inauguration speech calling them out and inviting them in. Perhaps something like "I hope the world is watching as once again American citizens witness the peaceful t******r of p***r in our government though, as you can plainly see here today, there are those who disagree with the will of the people. Our country was founded on Judeo Christian principles and so today I turn the other cheek for those attacking me. To those who call themselves Progressive and preach tolerance and inclusion and then behave in the exact opposite manner for all the world to see. The time is now to put aside our differences and come together to improve conditions here at home and by extension, the world".
