The Tail Really Is Wagging The Dog!

At a point in American history where every other headline and proposed law seems to center around protecting the legal rights and enhanced privileges of those citizens who choose to wear (if not actually advertise)
their choice of "sexual preference" on their rainbow colored sleeves;

the actual number of such individuals is consistently over exaggerated.

Americans Have No Idea How Few Gay People There Are
Garance Franke-Ruta May 31 2012, 2:17 PM ET

Surveys show a shockingly high fraction think a quarter of the country is gay or lesbian, when the reality is that it's probably less than 2 percent.

On the other hand, the extraordinary confusion over the percentage of gay people may reflect a triumph of the gay and lesbian movement's decades-long fight against invisibility and the closet.

"My first reaction to that, aside from a little chuckle, is that it's actually a sign of the success of the movement for L**T rights," said Stuart Gaffney, a spokesman for the group Marriage E******y USA. "We are a small minority, and we will never have full e******y without the support of the majority, and a poll like that suggests the majority is extremely aware of their gay neighbors, coworkers, and friends."

Overall, "U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian," Gallup found. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian.

The Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, a sexual orientation law think tank, released a study in April 2011, the analyses suggest that there are more than 8 million adults in the US who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual, comprising 3.5% of the adult population.

Our country's actual major minorities, on the other hand, who, if anything, exercise less political power, comprise, respectively:

Quote:
The total population of Hispanic and Latino Americans comprised 50.5 million or 16.3% of the national total,

while Black or African American alone, represent, percentage wise, 13.1%.

The emotion of a perceived distortion of discrimination has and will fuel further distortion. "If it bleeds, it leads."

Just maybe, if we elected the right politicans the "political correctness" would become the "moral correctness" and these stupid issues would disappear.

Until the e*****rate recognizes the destruction imposed on the
citizens of this and the next two, plus, generations, we will continue our downhill and bipartisan spiral. And we only have ourselves to blame.

If we want to change our government, Everybody must v**e. I finally registered to v**e for the first time in my life. I will exercise my rights as a citizen of the USA.

As obviously seen on these threads, "moral correctness" has, to some degree, always has different meanings to different people. Each assumes their model of such.

You can bet your bottom dollar I will educate myself as to what political party and who has not v**ed in the best interest of American citizens and I will cast my v**e accordingly. And will encourage all to do the same. Still can't understand why Mr Obama still has his job if he has broken federal laws.

Freedom of speech is a two way street, except for liberals, and their idea of freedom of speech is that you have the right to say wh**ever you want, as long as it fits their ideology. For them, political correctness falls into that same category. Our country and government was founded by moral men, not self serving politicians. Remember, these politicans that promise you the world, can also take that world away from you under this present state of government.

"right politician" has become an oxymoron. Both parties are equally guilty of putting their own interest ahead of the nation's. The only way I can see to combat this is to not allow them to stay in office long enough to become too entrenched and well connected.

Term limits will continue to fail as long as the narrow and special interests dominate both party caucuses. The media does not help nor does the repeated failure of v**er ID.

True enough...which is why I can't, for the life of me, understand why conservative Republicans continue to v**e for politicians who behave one way during e******n time and then betray the folks who put them in office simply because that person has an R after their name. Conservative and Libertarian folks need to let the "Mugwump", Rino-ass Republicans lose and lose big if they ever expect their message to be heard. If it cedes an e******n or two to the Democrats, then so be it!
