"The Population Bomb" by Paul Ehrlich (1968)

The original edition of The Population Bomb began with this statement: "The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. At this late date nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate ..." Ehrlich argued that the human population was too high, and that while the level of disaster could be mitigated, humanity could not prevent severe famines, the spread of disease, social unrest, and other negative consequences of overpopulation. By the end of the 1970s, this prediction proved to be incorrect. However, he continued to argue that societies must take strong action to curb population growth in order to mitigate future disasters, both ecological and social.

It's nearly doubled since he made these statements, How?

Ehrlich was a social engineer--an early Social Justice Warrior--and he continued to write his doom & gloom forecasts because--facts be damned--as a Leftard he simply KNOWS MORE than anyone else so to not believe in his predictions makes YOU the bad guy.

Our tax dollars continue to fuel this C*****e C****e crap because C*****e C****e is the MANTRA that allows the political Left to tax and carbon credit the HELL out of us.

gyno,

http://geography.about.com/od/globalproblemsandissues/a/greenrevolution.htm

The beginnings of the Green Revolution are often attributed to Norman Borlaug, an American scientist interested in agriculture.

Borlaug and the green revolution came in the nick of time.. But the population growth has nearly caught up with the food.. We will soon start hearing about over population once more.. A varity of problems within the food chain may fall out. Or simply the number of mouths on the earth..

Follow the link if you wish a little detail...

Borlaug, a farm kid from Iowa and Minnesota got a Pulitzer prize for his decades of work on plants and interaction with growth inputs.. But he also made a point of the limitations..
