Breaking the Spirit

Breaking the spirit of people I am sad to say is an accepted method of control in our society. It is done in some cases as part of a regimen of discipline, by others unwittingly as they are not aware of their own destructive powers. People do it to other people and humans do it to animals.

What does this actually mean? Well in order to exert influence, will, control, very harsh measures are taken to achieve a desired outcome in the person who it is being inflicted upon.

The affect this has is to literally break someone’s spirit. This means a piece or pieces of the soul break away because they cannot cope with the situation, the person becomes diminished and damaged for life. When a piece of soul is missing the power of the person is much less, they do not function properly and are open to further attack and mental and physical illness. The piece or pieces of soul will stay lost for the whole of that person’s life and if not reconnected will continue from lifetime to lifetime until such time as the energetic reconnection takes place.

So in what circumstances does this happen? Well parents can do this to their children, husband to wives and vice versa, teachers to pupils, bosses to their employees. Some bosses will systematically break the spirit of their subordinates to gain their influence. This happens in large corporations to small firms. It happens in prisons, schools, care homes, colleges, in all societies. It will happen anywhere where people are given power. These people who inflict the bullying, and tyranny and have issues around controlling others are themselves damaged souls.

Historically the armed forces are one of the main culprits for breaking the spirits of the young men and women in their care. The reasons why are not up for debate in this article .I am trying to point out that it is an accepted method of control and what long lasting damage it inflicts. It is up to the reader to decide if this is the type of behaviour that we wish to continue in our society. As I have mentioned this has gone on for generations it means there are many souls incarnating with aspects of themselves missing.

Can you mend a broken spirit or to put it another way be reconnected to your missing soul pieces? The answer is yes people with soul fragmentation can be put back together again. The question which has to be asked is does this apply to me. You may feel that something is missing that you are not whole. You may look to others for clues as to how to behave, you may just know that something is not right with yourself but cannot determine what.

b Breaking the spirit of people I am sad to say i... (show quote)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I know what you are trying to say, but am not sure you are correct in your assessment of how things actually are. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I believe some peoples' wills are broken easily and with no one TRYING to break that will. Some people are emotionally strong and some are emotionally weak. Some people's will can be broken easily, usually I believe without anyone trying to break their will. I've never known anyone who's will I know is broken. I've known people who are discouraged, but too often that is the result of their own actions. And discouragement is not the same as a broken will. I've known some who have fallen for the namby pamby role they think people should play, but in my view that is clearly one's own admission of lack of courage or faith or fear someone will dislike them if they aren't identical to that person.
Would you be so kind as to tell me what you consider a broken will and include what you consider another person breaking that individual's will? I'm not trying to be argumentative, merely wanting to understand what you are getting at.
I put in bold the very first sentence of this.
Let's just say...if you had worked very hard at something, anything at all and someone was to tell you...it won't work, that's stupid, you'll never amount to anything, etc, etc. I believe your spirit would be crushed and your will to succeed would crumble. Pretty much the pattern of life the left want us to lead.
Sons, I'm not sure of the reason you have for this post, but I agree with the old Greek belief that any blow to your back that doesn't break it, strengthens it. We have all experienced unfair treatment, even cruelty. Unfortunately, it's part of the human condition. I went through a very abusive childhood and have experienced other traumatic events in my life. I still have my soul intact and did my job very well. My children are hard working, honest and loving , so I must have done something right. I do carry the scars I received in life, like everyone else, but I would describe myself as a caring, hard working, loving honest person that constantly looks at himself to re examine my motives and beliefs. I know that many people that served in the army and other armed forces have PTSD. This is a disorder that comes from extreme situations such as combat. Thank God, it is not a condition that all folks get from difficult situations.
It was something I read in another thread that brought me to this. I reckon it has no irrelevance with anything else...carry on!
Interesting post , thought provoking .. You intentionally avoid military training and I understand ..I think many who have NOT experienced boot camp could never see beyond what appears to be brutal breaking of one's will .. To put it simply ,, To build a strong foundation you must mold the mortar and stone , most handle the riggers and grow . I would not trade that experience for anything and would recommend to most young men ..Thanks ,, good post , I apologize for straying from your post ..
Though I did not serve, my Dad was a Marine. I went through his style of boot camp growing up. He tried his best to bust my balls at every turn. Some can take it, most can't.
b Breaking the spirit of people I am sad to say i... (show quote)
Breaking of one's spirit can only take place if allowed..To "break someone's spirit" is to destroy their self- esteem, to take away their joy in life, their belief and joy in who they are, to take away their dreams and the life they hold dear...
All your scenarios work and done with intention, based on the need, to in fact control you..To rule over you in some way as most governments do so as to make us question our self worth and independence of...To strip us of our personal goals in achieving...They do not want achievers they want dependants...
What I'm saying is every reason for it has an ulterior goal, it's identifying what and why there is the need to try and break a person...
It can be tried on the domestic level as well and usually for the same reason, to strip you of the you, within, so as to make you less, not only against them but all..Lack of self esteem can and is self destructive in a society of those running over anyone needed to achieve their own " self worth"...
Vision in seeing in those their need to control often takes time and by the time you realize it is being done you have already started to accept their endeavors as just part of their make up..
Your spirit in my opinion is stronger than those trying to break it..Beaten down we can become but eventually when do see it the will to survive outshines all the other and your spirit, whether through anger or pity of the one trying to break you rallies and corrects those malicious actions...The sense of right and wrong is stronger than ones malicious intention against you...It's just getting to that point of "no more will you allow them" to take your very being away...
Breaking the spirit of people I am sad to say is an accepted method of control in our society.... if you have ever expierenced someone trying to do so you learn self preservation of such quickly... You also learn try as they might, eventually your spirit win reject it!!! We survive .......Our greatest gift, we survive in spite of it...
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.'....
Albert Einstein
And finally~~
So utterly alone, that we withdraw into our innermost self... It is a way of bitter suffering... But then our solitude is overcome, we are no longer alone, for we find that our innermost self is the spirit, that it is God, the indivisible. And suddenly we find ourselves in the midst of the world, yet undisturbed by its multiplicity, for our innermost soul we know ourselves to be one with all being..
!!.
Hermann Hesse
No better, no worse, but dignity of self has rekindled our inner being, our spirit!!!
