Democrats Learn The Hard Way That Being A-Holes Has Consequences

Nuclearian Loc: I live in a Fascist, Liberal State

Back when the democrats controlled the Senate, they made a “minor” rule change to keep Republicans from opposing any of Obama’s nominations. Now that they want to stop Donald Trump’s nominees, it’s suddenly dawning on them that they may have acted a bit hasty. Known as the “nuclear option” then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid changed the filibuster rules to make it easier for the democrats to push through Obama’s nominations without any Republican consent. Reid is gone but the democrats left in the Senate are lamenting that they abused their power.

In 2013, just a year before the democrats would lose the Senate to GOP control, Harry Reid dropped an atomic bomb on democracy. He lowered the number of Senators it would take to confirm a p**********l nominee from 60 to a simple majority of 51. At the time it meant that Republicans had absolutely no say in the confirmation process. Reid and the rest of his party stooges thought it was a great way to put all control in democratic hands, but there is one drawback: now the Republicans control the Senate and Donald Trump will soon be president, which means they can push through Trump’s nominees without any input from the democrats.

The Hill reports:

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) says he regrets the decision by Democrats in 2013 to trigger the “nuclear option” for most p**********l nominations.

The change to the Senate rules lowered the threshold for confirming Cabinet nominees to a simple majority v**e — something that will now help President-elect Donald Trump push through his nominees.

“I argued against it at the time. I said both for Supreme Court and in Cabinet should be 60 because on such important positions there should be some degree of bipartisanship. I won on Supreme Court, lost on Cabinet. But it’s what we have to live with now,” Schumer said.

Schumer who now leads his minority party in the Senate has vowed to stand up to Trump and oppose him at every turn, but since the democrats went for a short-term power-grab, he’s just farting in the wind. Republicans have a 52-48 majority in the Senate, so Schumer and company, have no power to do anything but complain to the liberal media and it’s all thanks to them acting like assholes 4 years ago.

This entire episode exposes one of the biggest weakness in the democratic mindset: they simple don’t understand that actions have consequences. They don’t see the big picture nor do they get that whole cause/effect thing that most of us learned in 5th grade. Liberalism in general is reacting emotionally to something without considering facts or outcomes.

In an attempt to make things more “fair” for themselves the democrats have screwed themselves over. I can’t say I feel sorry for them, but I do find it funny. I can’t wait for the actual conformation hearings where the democrats will all be crying about how unjust everything is.

12 1/2 days left and he'll be the heck out of the W H, and his ls won't matter any more. Then Trump has fences to mend, staring with Israel.
