I didn't need a study to tell me this. I'm a video game addict. Have been for over 35 years. My first game was Pong. Then my parents got me an Atari 2600, and I discovered Tank Battles, and Space Invaders. Been addicted ever since. It's an addiction I can live with. It hasn't affected my ability to function, though it does cost me way too much sleep. Oh well. I'll get plenty of rest when I'm dead.

Indeed, my addiction started with the same games as you.....then Galaga took over, untill my fix was satisified with Robotron.....working a video game room in high school for a couple yrs surely didn't help.

Good Times Inc.

When you need to k**l some time, you can't beat video games. I've played for 12 hours straight, and it only seemed like a few hours. It doesn't just k**l time. It murders it, mutilates it, then gets rid of the evidence.

Trying to draw us in ain't ya!

Ok. I'll bite. I'll also confess.
I purchased the Atari Flashback 7 system the other day. Asteroids, centipedes, frogger, etc. I haven't checked to see if it has Missile Command on it yet. I have a few sniper games that I play on my phone, but don't have a lot of time for it, otherwise I would be addicted too. And, BTW......Pong sucked!! But it was the birth of video games.
I still am a sucker for pinball machines when I come across em!

I never cared for pinball, mostly because I suck at it.

Agreed on that, I've had some marathon sessions that lasted so long i was literally mind drunk when it was over......i would see the game when i closed my eyes to sleep like it was burned into my retina. ...oh yea!

I dunno, these are pretty authentic ones produced by the original maker...namco, Williams etc,etc

I have asteroids, missile command, defender 1 and 2, galaga, robotron, xevious, pole position, frogger, mappy, space invaders, dig dug...and so on, identical to the original stand up arcade versions.
I have no complaints about them except the short 6' AV cables they come with.

Don't be a h**er Archie

I learned to play them on the stand up arcade versions. This sitting on the coutch, joystick, fire button on the wrong side is a relearning thing for me.

Yea, some are like that...especially the ones that had multiple fire buttons for different weapons.

I know ToysRus sold the stand up cabinet with joysticks and buttons for about 299 bucks, it came with the 19" screen.....you had to supply the actual board for the game, don't know what that costs.....looked cool and you could swap boards with relative ease.
