This is the title of a course at the U. of Wisconsin . I have to wonder about if I would have ever been r****t enough as to get interested in that course. When I began college in 1950 we just didn't have courses with titles like that. The U of W says they have classes on being all colors, but I bet they don't any of them have titles as offensive as that one is to me. I remember in the early 50s so many good jokes about black people that I would still consider funny. The most fun I ever had in basic training for the Army was with my best buddy, Joe Morris, making people of both races, black and white, think we were about to have at it. Most of them didn't know that Joe's "knife" was a penknife with a blade about one inch long. I bet Joe and I could have blown that course out of the water if we had been "kids" of today.

You telling me you don't feel guilty simply because you were born with white skin color? Where oh where did the Left go wrong?

Not an ounce of guilt in this old white man. My parents didn't feel guilty for being white, either. This whole thing is liberal crap.

I don't feel guilty at all. Of course, I have a touch of both Spanish and Black blood in me also. Not enough to be obvious. Therefore, I cannot make r****t comments, unless it is about Asiatics. How fortunate. Then again, I said long ago that if we are to believe the latest paleontological pontifications, since mankind originated in Africa, we are all technically "African-American." I once knew a white woman who had been born and raised in South Africa, the daughter of several generations of South African w****s, and a B***k A******n (who had never set foot in Africa, nor did he have any relatives that he knew of who ever had,) said she couldn't be "African American." What's up with that one? Maybe what he meant was she couldn't be "Equatorial African American?"

I'm an Italian-American on my father's side, an Okie (Choctaw, Cherokee, Scottish, Irish, Spanish, English, Flemish, and oh yeah, French) on my mother's side. What the hell is their problem?

Agreed.Stick to the courses that pertain to your degree.I'd be pissed to no end to be paying my hard earned money for a class that has zero benefit to my kid just to advance some liberal out of touch professors brainwashing. If you treat people with respect skin color is irrelevant.

The problem here is that I was always in the history and government departments because I wanted to teach those subjects in high school. My dad would have been very unhappy for me to take a course like that one but then, he didn't pay my way to college. Back in the early 50s most of us worked our way through college and I was one of the majority.

The thing about this subject that bothers me is that the word white appears in the title and it doesn't seem that any other of their courses have any mention of racial color. To me that makes this one so obviously left leaning.

I can agree with that being bothersome. I didn't witness the Civil rights movement of the 60's so I don't know how it compares to current times.I can't stand the constant cries of r****m.I'm not denying it's existence. I'm just tired of it thrown around everywhere you turn.I will never let anyone try and make me feel guilty for the color of my skin.

You must not get burned very bad. The only place on me that squeals cancer is the top of my bald head. I used to get that burned a little every year but in 1957 we spent the whole day on the beach in Italy, 4 hours in the water. My head was a deep walnut color when I went to England a week later. It started to peal so I just took the whole darned thing off in one big chunk. The head was much whiter under there than normal. I spent 20 years going bareheaded playing golf after that and then took my doctor's word that I would regret mistreating my old bald head and sure enough about 5 years ago I found myself in the skin doctor's office every 6 months. I have had 2 basal cell carcinomas taken off my nose during that time.

Now one of my "black" buddies from that day in Italy burned the backs of his knees so bad that he couldn't walk for a couple of days.
