At the bottom of my cane has 50,000 volts and higher up is 6 rounds of .380. Which by the way I would gladly not carry anymore if I could have an armed policemen by my side at all times.

I've taken defense classes and while all helpful I don't want to ever be that close to someone able to touch me at all...
Therefore my Glock. 357 does my fighting or my 9mm....
I've studied plenty on how to break the hold of someone from behind or in front and the second I'm free its bang bang time, period....Not waiting for what else may be coming...
But thank you for the refresher in how to fend off or yes, the easiest ways to snap the neck, put the cariledge of nose into the brain etc..
In that situation you can panic if you don't know how to combat an attacker...

Thank You but it was more of taking an excersise class in kick boxing that graduated to defense classes..
Also licensed to carry in three states each having mandatory classes, bored knowing what they would cover I took an advanced class for what they called move and shoot..In it you go thru true assailants coming from any direction...
One was close enough, my weapon down, not in position as I should have been adrenaline running I drop kicked him...Didn't mean to, he had a sprained leg for a couple of weeks but I did learn it's not always having yourself ready and the more you know the safer you are...

I belong to them and the NRA... Both promote helping you and good to know as well..NRA has insurance you can actually purchase too and yes I did...Self defense coverage..Well worth having...

Hello Linda. Love the new avatar. I took karate classes with my son to have him learn how to defend himself. During those classes I moved up two belts and learned many useful punches and holds. But I realize at my age I have lost power and quickness so a weapon is the best answer. I think that is the best advice for most older people.

A weapon certainly is better, especially when your not near as big or as strong.. Although I must admit if you know the right moves size and strength doesn't win the match...
Just as soon have my weapon which is either on me or close enough to get to ....
