Today marks the sixth month .

Today marks six months without drinking a drop of beer, or any kind of wine! And six months of eating seven fruits or veggies a day, drinking 10 glasses of water, no carbs, and no red meat. The change in my body has been fantastic! I feel great, I lost weight, and my way of thinking is very positive! I'm looking to keep this up, and go for more, because I choose to! No alcohol, eating healthy, and above all, an hour of exercise every day!
I don't know whose status this is, but I was so happy for them, I copied and pasted it.

The idea of not eating meat has come about because so much of our meat is full of antibiotics, hormones (to make the animal grow fatter and larger )and other chemicals that for some people eating commercially grown meat is harmful.

However, meat is the only sure source of all 20 amino acids your body needs to build and rebuild the protein that your body is made of. The average adult needs about 4 oz of meat protein per day, (children’s growing bodies need more). If you are eschewing all meat, then you must at least eat fish or eggs to make up for the lack. Pure vegetarianism is very harmful.

If you like steaks, etc. you must find a farmer who is growing a grass fed steer without any hormones, etc. Many farmers are doing that to feed their own family. Make a deal to buy some of his meat or even as I used to do, buy the whole steer, have a local butcher cut and wrap and freeze it for you. It will usually turn out cheaper, and definitely be healthier. And of course you can do the same to get organic pork, etc.

Or raise your own meat.
