Carrier: The Plot Thickens...
I read somewhere it was 5 years but no matter the day of an employee putting a screw, a washer and lug nut of two bolts has been over a long time, robots have come a long way as they do that and toque it right. These employees need to upgrade themselves as the 30 year job has disappeared.
This is non-sense! What has Bernie done in all his years to save any jobs? What has Obama done in his 8 years to save any jobs? I can tell you what Obama did...he told people that Trump could not save these jobs from leaving our country. Obama is good at one thing...ridiculing anyone who comes up with solutions to the job problem. Liberals never mention the fact that there are other details of the carrier deal. Details like Carrier agreed to spend over 16 million dollars in upgrades to their facilities, which in turn, will create hundreds of more jobs. Trump has done a great thing here! he's saved 1100 people from losing their jobs and he hasn't even started his first term as president yet. Obama has done absolutely nothing to create jobs or save jobs from leaving the USA in his 8 years as president. What Obama has done is let the problem get out of control, SO...its not going to be fixed overnight. Trump did what he could do until he gets in office. Once he is in office Trump will continue to do what he does best...create jobs and negotiate better deals. And he will not allow these corporation to simply walk away from America without paying for it big time! Damn liberals try their best to sabotage any progress because they don't want progress or people working! they want them dependent on government to ensure the v**es continue to roll in. They want to flood the country with millions of i******s who will take more jobs from the American people. Liberals are great at one thing...destruction of anything they touch!
KUDOS! The Government has never done anything right, all they've done is take the money and squander it. When things, they've set in motion, take a dump, they throw money at it hoping it goes away or people use their short term memory to forget.
Of course the liberals today, are throwing rocks before Trump has even started draining the swamp. Wonder why!

Am sure, having gone through this a few years back, the feeling at the plant was extra time was better than no time. My feeling was I came here looking for a job so if they leave I look for a job.

Once Trump enters the white house;(After fumigating it first), there will be changes made in grapenuts, his first term will be "Un-doing" the mess that B.O. left behind.

Ugh. Politicians do not and cannot 'create' jobs. That is the 'job' of the entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs create jobs by going into business and producing marketable products. The more products they sell, the more people they need producing the products and so the more jobs are created. If demand for products is reduced by wh**ever means, then jobs will no longer be viable and those workers will find themselves looking for other means of gainful employment. If the market does not buy the product at all, then even the entrepreneur will find himself out of a job and likely poorer than when he started. That is the risk / reward mechanism of the marketplace.
A job is only viable as long as it is profitable. The entrepreneur must at least break even on the deal or the job will be cut. The only way to 'save' jobs is to make them profitable. In that respect, the President in any republican form of government may help create the conditions whereby more jobs are seen as profitable by recommending that Congress cut taxes and regulations applicable to economic actors. By reducing the overhead expense of doing business, it becomes more profitable to employ marginal workers and those jobs are 'saved'.
In essence, the only way government can 'create' jobs is to get out of the way and allow the free market to operate unburdened with taxes and excessive regulation. Like that is ever going to happen.

WOW!! You have a very good grasp of the obvious.
He is creating a climate for the creation of jobs. You NEED to take a course in economics.
The Ford CEO made some interesting recommendations on ways government can get out of the way and let business 'do business'. Now there's an idea I can get behind.

Have you ever heard "negotiations" before? You are witnessing it now. BTW: the CEO was referring to the CURRENT liberal government, as Trump hasn't been installed yet.
No one said Trump created these job and they may well remain here foe another 20 years but it's a hell of a lot more than Obama was willing to do. If Obama had his hand in this it would probably like the GM move, give more power to the unions.

I believe that's what I've been saying all along. He needs to create the conditions, not address individual cases. As for my economics education, I adhere to the Austrian school of economic thought. You've probably never heard of it.

I saw no reference to a specific administration but OK. Wh**ever you say. Equally applicable.
