Education Can Be Interesting...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Interesting for the few who have not heard this:
Having heard it since about the 1960s, I submit that the word FUCK derived from the time when England outlawed sex between a man and a woman who were not married, and punishment was time in the stocks with the offence carved on it:
The crime was too long to carve: "ForUnlawfulCarnalKnowledge" so it was abbreviated F.U.C.K. When I read about it on Google I discounted the below versions... 'Okie Don'
DAILY WORD RESEARCH
RV,
It may well be a 'popular expression' of desperation and annoyance commonly used in Australia by 'Aussies'.
From my research, the work is English and originated when, due to illness and disease, the natives were loosing population and produce and commodities were not arriving in England ports on their fleets.
So, the King, in desperation, issued a command or proclamation:
F ornicate, U under the C ommand of the K ing hence abbreviated the word FUCK thereby originated.
Now you know 'the rest of the story' as Paul Harvey would say..... End 'Okie Don'
Thanks so much. Very enlightening and appropriate for this time of the year. HAPPY THANKSGIVING and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
