For me, yesterday, when I realized I had deducted an amount twice from my account. Now I have $1.50 more money!

How very odd that you should create this topic today. This morning I walk up feeling, by normal standards, preternaturally and luxuriously content, a peace that surpassed understanding and could be called happy to the bone marrow. I immediately wondered what could have possibly happened to so markedly change my attitude and outlook from the time I put my head on the pillow to my alarm going off. I was not exactly a happy camper when I went to sleep. I thought for a bit about it--and then it hit me: a dream I had that night. This has occurred at numerous other times in my life and always, as with this one, the results were uplifting.
It was very simple and brief. In the dream I am walking up behind my only grandchild, Drake, who is not quite a year and a half old (my only child was a late bloomer in this regard; she was forty-one when Drake was born). I bend over, gently cradle his head in my heads, and kiss him on the top of the head. Explosion of love and gratitude watching as he awkwardly toddles off. To my last breath I will swear that my lips actually felt his downy hair. For me, this is God's wondrous grace at work, and to him I say, "Thanks! I needed that."

What a cool post!! Just the other day I was getting a little concerned that my work hrs were going to dwindle into a big problem. I went to bed talking to the Lord about this, and fell asleep within my prayer, oops. Last night I got a call from my job wanting me to go and care for a elderly woman, myself having a specific qualifying document that allowed me into her place. Now, this little lady is asking for ongoing round the clock care, bringing my employer and the rest of us many hours. I love the Lord, he knows this, but I still like to say it, as well as how merciful and loving he is to those who truly love him. !!! I'm very happy and content.

Wonderful story, rhomin. I have had a practice for many years of reviewing my day and giving thanks, asking forgiveness, and making a list of any amends that are needed. Not perfectly always, or even most of the time, perhaps, but included is also the prayer to fill in the blanks. Forgetting to mention this practice may have done God an injustice, appearing it to be just part of my nature. Thank you.

About 30 seconds ago, right before I read a topic about the Knock Out game, but even with that, I found a less angry one where people are being taught self defense. Then I saw that you had a post, and guess what I am back to being happy.

Thank you, a confirmation, of sorts.

You are welcome. I am glad I did not disappoint you.

Now, the last time that I was happy, about 30 seconds ago. I fed a stray dog, he wagged his tail. The weather is bitter cold, and he was hungry, homeless, and no government check to look forward to ease his pain. I fed him, took him to the barn where he could rest without fear, stay warm, and know that he is safe. He did not judge me for my thoughts or beliefs; he took me for who I am. So, I felt happy that I just happened to be looking out the window and saw him and equally happy that I could offer him shelter from the storm.

I am sure that you felt happy when you wrote your last hurtful remarks to me. So, I figure that I am in a giving mood, so I give you another opportunity to "slam dunk" another cleverly Christianized critique of someone you do not know, will never know.

You know, after reading all the posts that have followed, I think this is a really awesome one to keep going!! They say that you either choose to be happy -- or not, but given these posts, not so sure about that -- have no idea what happened in the night either, but a true blessing, obviously!!

Yep, I'm happy every day, just to be able to get out of bed. Everything else is gravy and I like gray so it's a win win!

WOW! Great question!
For me: right now...today my daughter called and told me that our grandson wanted to come spend the night.
My son called and asked if we wanted to shoot some skeet sunday.
My wife, best friend, right arm, soulmate of 18 years come Feb. 15th is snoring softly beside me now.

The little guy (he is 7) is curled up asleep on the couch with the dog at his feet. We are going rabbit hunting in the morning, and then he is going to help me trim the horse's feet.

Thanks for this!! You made me think!
I have nothing to complain about.
I live in a free country (for now),
I have a pretty good woman who loves me,
I have a couple of pretty good kids, and a pretty good grandkid to boot!!!
To top it all off, I have a DAMN good dog!
:-D

Wow!! I'd have to say your cup absolutely runneth over!! You are one blessed man. Does give you a good feeling, doesn't it.

I know I said a couple of days ago that I thought this would be an awesome thing to keep going and then I got lost for a couple of days, so...

I am thankful that I decided to play hookey Wednesday because the sky was that incredible blue (I took time to notice). I took time to hug on my llamas (I should also probably be thankful that mine have good manners and they don't spit!!). I took time to play fetch with my dogs, and there was time left over to pet the cats, prop my feet up and actually read just because I felt like it.

Thursday morning, brrrrrr, I was REALLY happy that my husband got up FIRST and started a fire. I was also grateful for that electric blanket one of our sons gave us last Christmas.

Friday, have to say that with the growing season for just about everything is almost done, I will have a genuine excuse to kick back for the winter. My husband made the comment just the other day that my cell phone had become rather quiet of late. Hallelujah!! Grateful for having things to offer folks but equally grateful that the possibility of someone calling me at 6 in the mornin' to ask me if I have okra is rather unlikely. Yes!!

This mornin', well, I am truly happy to be able say I know how blessed I am.

Any chance of me getting a loan from you, now that you have extra funds available?

As for the question? Everyday, when I wake up, read the papers, and do not see my name in the obituaries, I am happy. My life is just grand, as-is!

Although, I must admit, it gets "grander" when my kids/grandkids come to see Granny and Gramps!
