Trump Lied! He Is Taking A P**********l Salary
by Adam Campbell

When billionaire Trump ran for the president of the United States, he said he wouldn’t take a salary, but he lied.

Donald Trump isn’t taking the full salary of $400,000 offered to the president each year, but instead he is being paid a single dollar per year.

He is taking a salary, but not really.

Federal law says that Trump must be paid as president so he has to be paid a dollar a year.

Trump made the announcement during his interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday.

Trump hasn’t even started, but he has already found a way to cut $1,599,996 from the budget over the next four years. That is a good start.

This is a very symbolic move and sets a great tone for his t***sition team. It says that Trump is here for business and not to make money.

Hopefully other presidents will continue to only take a dollar. It will be hard for future presidents to say they would like a salary after Trump refused it. This might be an ongoing thing.

The move is also a symbolic move to the rest of Washington. He is telling them, they are not here to make money either. He is saying that they are all in Washington for the American people.

It was a bold move, and it could be a good sign of what’s to come.

The governor of Alabama is doing the same. Not sure if anyone else is.

It's fine for a wealthy person, but an average citizen could not afford is.

You got that right...Came in with about 1.5 million in assets and leaving with a 12 million dollar asset portfolio...Nowwww, recon, how does that happen??? 400k times 8 yrs doesn't get them there...

Like most politicians on the Hill, all leave millionaires....Those special interest groups sure do help, huh?? The gifts that keep on giving...

Looking forward to dumping special lobbyist, not allowing contributions from lobbyists and making those who worked in office have a 5 year absence before being able to lobby!! Just to name a few..

ALL politicians and "law-makers," 12, should be like General George Washington and President Donald J. Trump. "Have I not yet done enough for my country," should be the reaction to HAVING to save the country from GB, or {radical} Islam; respectively. A stint in the military or Military Academia, specific term limits and very low pay should all be essential ingredients to rid America of "professional" politicians and "lobbyists," and working in any of the branches of our federal government should be more like a trip to the dentist rather than a very, very, very well-paid vacation and golfing foray. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP!!! GOD BLESSED AMERICA!!! "DRAIN THAT SWAMP!!!"

And what would the average citizen need that the president isn't provided?

Look at what Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi started with and what they ended up with (money wise). Why else would would someone spend millions to get a $174,000 a year job? They make more "on the side" than they make for a salary. Congress should have to abide by all the laws they pass for everyone else. NO SPECIAL PERKS/PRIVILEGES!!
