Following the e******n that resulted in Donald J. Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States liberals have shown desperate signs of grasping at wh**ever straws they can find to prevent the winner from taking office.
From coast-to-coast temper tantrums, turned into r**ts, are fueling theories on various ways to try to stop Trump.
But the fact is, the scenarios being tossed around are utter nonsense and will not change the results of the 2016 p**********l e******n.
Starting with the easiest scenarios, let’s break down why none of theories being floated to invalidate a Trump v**e will come to fruition.
1. Protests and R**ts.
A P**********l e******n in the United States of America has never been changed because people whined and broke windows and there is nothing in the Constitution that allows for anyone to change the results of the e******n regardless of anyone’s desires.
2. President Obama will refuse to leave office.
A president’s term is ascribed by the Constitution. The innauguration of the new president happens with or without consent from the outgoing president. There is literally nothing the sitting president can do to prevent this. Moreover, unlike what some internet websites have claimed, President Obama has never threatened to stay in office. The rumor was merely a h**x perpetrated by a known satirical website.
3. Can President Obama declare martial law to keep Trump out of the White House?
Yes, a declaration of martial would suspend the Constitution and keep President Obama in office but the military would have to go along with it, for starters. Also, outside a significant national emergency, and sporadic r**ts are not, it would be extremely tough for a president to declare martial law. President Obama himself expressed contempt for such conspiracy theories while on the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton.
“They’ve been feeding their base all kinds of crazy for years,” President Obama said, referring to Republicans. “If somebody completely denies c*****e c****e, or is filled up with all kinds of conspiracy theories about how me and Hillary started ISIL, or that we were plotting to declare martial law and take away everybody’s guns.”
President Obama also met with President-elect Trump on Thursday and the two have already begun the peaceful t***sition of power.
4. Trump can be impeached.
University of Utah Law Professor Christopher Lewis Peterson wrote an article detailing how Trump could be impeached.
“Unlike his promised crimes yet to come, the illegal acts in Trump’s high pressure wealth seminars have already occurred. Indeed, a federal judge appointed under Article III of the U.S. Constitution has already determined that Trump’s alleged actions, if true, constitute fraud and racketeering,” he wrote.
This theory is based in fact, though it highly is unlikely a president would be impeached from alleged crimes committed before he took office.
And Republicans control both houses of Congress making this idea nothing more than a pipe dream.
5. The E*******l College can change its v**es and elect someone else.
This is the most widely circulated, and least fringe conspiracy theory, scenario making the rounds.
And it’s also one that can be dismissed like the others.
A petition that has skyrocketed on Change.org with more than 2 million signatures has called on e*****rs to ignore their state’s v**es and v**e for Hillary Clinton for president.
In the entire history of the United States there have been 157 “faithless e*****rs.” And of those 157, 71 changed their v**e because the candidate they were selected to v**e for had died, according to FairV**e.org. And only nine of those faithless e*****rs have occurred in the past 80 years.
No faithless e*****r, or group of them, has ever changed the result of an e******n. Trump’s lead is so big it would take dozens of faithless e*****rs to make enough of a dent to make this idea any more than a childish dream.
Also, the e*****rs for Trump were chosen by the Republican Party, just as Hillary Clinton’s e*****rs were chosen by the Democrats. Not only would the e*****rs have to desert Trump, they’d have to desert their party and v**e for Clinton.
If they instead decided to v**e for another Republican, or simply not v**e at all, the decision would go to the Republican controlled House of Representatives who would then elect Trump.
In other words, despite all the tantrums, r**ts, whining and wishes of liberals nationwide, Trump, and his millions of supporters, will not have the e******n s****n from them.
