Within a few weeks of winning the White House, President-elect Donald Trump could face another group of U.S. citizens, a federal jury in California, courtesy of a lawsuit by former students of his now-defunct Trump University who claim they were defrauded by a series of real-estate seminars.

A hearing in federal court in San Diego is set for Thursday, and the trial is scheduled to begin on Nov. 28, barring any delays or if Trump decides to settle the case.

While presidents enjoy immunity from lawsuits arising from their official duties, the U.S. Supreme Court has held that this shield does not extend to acts alleged to have taken place prior to taking office. The 1997 ruling came in the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against President Bill Clinton by Paula Jones, which was settled before it went to trial.

Lawyers said they could think of no similar situation like the one now involving Trump.

“I’m certain there is nothing comparable to this,” said Alan Dershowitz, professor emeritus at Harvard Law School.

Lawyers for both Trump and the plaintiffs declined to comment on Wednesday.

Dershowitz said the Supreme Court also held that a case cannot be delayed just because the defendant is president, though judges are still free to grant reasonable delays to any party.

Miami trial consultant Sandy Marks, who is not involved in the case, said he thought Trump might ask the presiding judge, Gonzalo Curiel, to postpone the trial in an effort to settle the case before taking office.

“I think the judge would be foolhardy not to give him a short (delay),” said Marks, “which would give him a chance to resolve the case with all these people and put it behind him.”

More fishing from another sore loser. Get over it.

As president he could pardon himself anyway so who cares? You haven't given one shred of concern regarding Obama's behavior, why should we care about your bogus crying now? Haven't you embarrassed yourself enough with all the proven false accusations? What a bunch of children, acting now exactly how you accused the right would do "when" Hillary was elected.

Wh**ever Trump's business failures may be, they were in the private sector. They are insignificant compared to the enormous damage Hillary did to our national security while SecState. She is the one who should be wearing orange pant suits.

If he defrauded them, then why did so many others do so well?
I wonder how many graduates from Brown or any College are out of work?

It's like the old saying says "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink".

Fact is he ll probably just pay them off to make them go away.

I wonder how many of the sexual assault cases will actually go through against the President elect, w/ no proof, no witnesses, no evidence, no...

A judge just advised these plaintiffs that they would be wise to settle. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-trump-lawsuit-ruling-idUSKBN1352D0 Also, President Trump's lawyers told the judge that he defendant is open to settling this. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/11/10/defense-open-to-settlement-in-trump-university-fraud-case.html

So.. these "students", in my opinion will accept their refunds, sign the documents that will close the case... forever. Keep in mind, the law suit is not against President Trump, but against Trump University. Even if the university is found guilty of fraud, the best that they online "students" can expect is refunds with associated fees. And you can not put an institution in prison. Keep in mind that this is a civil case.. not a criminal case.

There is the matter of the 13-year-old girl who was to have been in court in December since Trump raped her. She has received death threats and has withdrawn. How could this child have the ability to move against this monster? A felon could not serve this country as a President. He would have to be publicly labeled as a known "pervert" and rapist. But a Mike Pence would be truly worse. Although it is hard to attempt to being thinking about that. Let this be known as only my opinion so the h**ers do not attack me. I'm tired and it is late in California. I just got back from playing with my grandson and found out that the strange and wonderful Leonard Cohen died at the age of 82. Having just released a record. This has been one hell of a week that is now leaving me feeling less demented and angry and merely broken and sad. Let us all hope for kindness. Rather than hatred. Rather than rudeness. Small acts. They matter. Talk to the homeless woman or man who is not so crazy that s/he cannot understand you. If you can afford to buy a burrito, do it for him or her. Those things we can do. Even those of us living on very limited income. I am on Disabilty. I would rather work. I loved what I did. Ah.

Talk about a monster. You might want to see what the good book says about gossip and spreading lies. There is no proof that Trump raped a thirteen year old. There is proof that Hillary got a rapist of a young girl off and bragged about it. Guess that didn't bother you.

Should YOU sue your college or University only due to your FAILURE after attending it?

That lawsuit will go NO WHERE fast! WHY?

How many people made MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars being a success AFTER attending Trump U? You need to get real! That Court Case will dry up and blow away the same as those so called "group" of women claiming one thing or another that Trump touched, kissed, or said something so horrible and in a sexual manner to them....I call it the same way as what a Court will call it...BULL S**T!

There is already far too much proof whom paid whom money to advance these allegations....and WE know whom is behind it. And, so does Trump's attorneys!

Yes we can tell YOU are "disabled"...enough said about YOU and YOUR stance on life. Now go grab some of that welfare cheese and get to eating it, Welfare Rat!

What YOUR small pea sized MIND fails to even REMOTELY understand is, TRUMP was not even ever NEAR the 13 year old whom was Prompted to make the false allegations to begin with and REALITY of what would happen to her and her family won that battle...it is a FELONY to bring false allegations against another person like that 13 year old girl did...Trump (as most business successful people can) would have NO problem accounting for his wereabouts as to the time period the lil LIAR stated this happened. I can even bet SECURITY Cameras would put him so many miles in another location...so now what to do? The lil LIAR's family had a chance to figure it out....and then they dropped the charges...no brainer there.

BUT for YOU and YOUR KIND? You are a social WORM! Low...and d********g. You live on what others have to PAY for you to even exist! L***H! Moocher! Bag lady in a home....and with I*****L a***ns coming to your door to have more crack babies to be on more welfare. Who do you think you are fooling?
