The problem today, especially on the left is their definition of diversity. Look at the liberals on college campuses. Their idea of diversity only goes so far as skin color or ethnicity. Look different but think the same or be shut down.

Liberal diversity means "thinking only as they do." They are always right. Their opinion is the only one that counts. End of story.

Exactly right sassy. They are all for free speech as long as they agree with said speech.

I think you have not met enough liberals, JF.
Yes, there are some that think as you describe, just as there are some on the right that think the same way.
Certainly the strategy of the Republicans for the last 8 years has been "our way or nothing at all."
I am optimistic that more of us are wiser than we are given credit, on both sides.

I've met plenty of liberals. I should have been clearer. Older liberals. Thirties on up will discuss unless they are teaching it seems. Young liberals can't seem to accept any other way of thinking. Your statement about the last eight years is rediculous.

Well, when we were younger most of us thought we had all the answers, didn't we? It's part of being young.

As to the Republicans and the last eight years, their behavior has indeed been ridiculous. I can't think of a single piece of legislation in which they've c*********d and come to any kind of consensus. It has been nothing but obstructionism because they could not get everything their way. If you can correct me with facts on that I am all ears.

They have obstructed many of Obama's proposals. I for one am glad they did. One proposal they obstructed I disagree with their position. I liked Obama's jobs bill. It did much of what Republicans say they want. Gave forgiveness on taxes if companies came back. Also cut out tax breaks for companies that move off shore. So why would Republicans obstruct such a bill? For one, Reid would allow no amendment's. I'm not saying the bill needed amendment's. It's how the game is played. The Chamber of congress was against the Bill. The Chamber no longer seems to represent the small business owners. Seems like they prefer the global economy. But they have a lot of influence on politicians. This ridiculous game is played by both sides. Obama and the Democrats poisoned the well when they passed Obamacare using the nuclear option in the Senate. Usually in the Senate you need sixty v**es, exactly why the people elected Scott Brown. Then Reid pulls some shenanigan's and gets one of the most controversial bills past without one Republican v**e. A Law affecting one sixth of the economy should have been a bi-partisan bill. We know what comprehensive immigration reform meant by Obama. I am glad they have tried to stop him and his progressive policies. I think they are bad for the country.

So true! Both parties are at fault, and we need to be much more vocal in keeping our senators and representatives accountable. I tweeted Trump this morning that he promised to repeal and replace Obamacare. I hope millions of others will do the same. Hearing from the American people matters.

There is a lot of work to be done. It will take years to undo the damage done by Obama.
