Where do we go from here?

We all feel that things are not as good as they could be.

We disagree on why they are bad & can not agree on how to fix things.

We here as far as I can see are much more alike than we are different. We have most of the same over all values & problems in our day to day life.

If we were to meet randomly in our day to day life. We would I am sure we treat each other with due respect.

Why can we not show respect to each other here?

Many of us have been around for a while & have met life's problems head on & lived to talk about it.

We got here because we got along with others. We were for the most part good people. Money wise we are not rich but we are not poor. We are I feel a good cross section of what life is about.

I strongly believe that we here have what it takes to speak up as to the path this nation needs to take in to the future.

We can be as much of a force for our future as what was done by our. founding fathers.

We know more & have better ways to communicate than they.

Here & now we face the same problems faced by our forefathers with others running our lives.
Entrenched wealth then & so too today.

Sorry the tea party was used.

We need a new slogan.

Floyd, I've enjoyed reading your posts for the past 3 months. You would agree with me that the rhetoric and name calling here can get vicious at times. And, I have appreciated you staying above it all. Thank you.

I think there is one thing we are facing today that our forefather's never dreamed of. The impending collapse of the US Dollar. I happen top believe we have already gone over the fiscal cliff. 17 T. in debt and an additional 125 T. in Unfunded Liabilities give us an astronomical figure that no economic model can demonstrate a recovery from.

I am not a defeatist, Many countries have had their currencies collapse and have survived from it. I have faith in the American people that when it happens (not if, but when), that we will develop a new currency (it won't be a Global Reserve Currency like the Dollar). But, we will survive after a very tough time.

So how do I think it will happen?
Some Thursday afternoon/Friday morning banks will announce an issue with the ATM network. Banks will not be able to communicate and thus everyone's money will be unobtainable. The banks will all blame a hacking incident. Over the weekend the value of the US Dollar will drop dramatically on the world market, China will start selling their Treasury bonds on the open market (at a loss) and on Monday (or when ever the ATM is back up), people will be pulling out their cash, and the dollar continues it's downward spiral.

Think I'm crazy? Google the 'Collapse of the PetroDollar'
and then current world events may come into focus, such as Syria and Iran, China & Russia buying gold like crazy, and such.

Well, maybe I am a little wack, but I am buying food for storage, and vegetable seeds.

Yes these things could happen. But if faced with problems of that nature those who think of them self as being in control will surprise Us & them self by doing all they can to make things not right but not so bad.

They want to keep the system that has made it possible fot them to get what they have. With as few changes they can.

For if the system fails they will have failed.

Floyd, my friend, You hit the nail on the head....it is about the Control. When something like the crashing currency happens it will be about how will grab and hold onto Control.
