Root Beer Popsicles

One reason that I like country music, is because country artists like to include nostalgic memories of the past.

I was listening to a Tim McGraw song and there is a line in the lyrics that took me back to my childhood.

The lyric line from the song " Humble And Kind " mentioned root beer popsicles.

My father was truly a hard worker.

And from the time we were able to hold a hammer or a leaf rake in our hands, he held us to his own code of work ethics.

But when the work was completed he believed in the importance of reward for a job well done.

I'll always remember the times he would surprise us with homemade root beer popsicles that he made in the freezer.

He would wake up so early that even the roosters were startled before crowing.

He would always have everything prepared for wh**ever the task was that he had planned for us.

And it was in those early morning moments of pr********n, that he would take the time to make homemade root beer popsicles for us to enjoy after our work was done.

My dad is 87 years old and still runs his businesses with the help of my oldest brother and my favorite uncle.

And even today if you were to happen to visit his home during the hot summer months, I wouldn't be surprised if during your visit, he offered you a nice cool root beer popsicle.

If you have time, please enjoy this song called " Humble And Kind "

Your Dad is what I consider a REAL AMERICAN Dad. Sounds like you were one of the lucky ones.

I remember as a young boy the ice cream truck coming through the neighborhood ringing its bell. One of my favorites was a root beer popsicle. I have not had one in years.

Me, too. Used to get 'em from the Good Humor man. Loved Frosty Root Beer. Current bottles under that trade name not the same. Ditto Hydrox cookies. New batch from Leaf not like the original. Don't buy 'em.

A&W Root Beer was the best. I remember getting gallon jugs for barbecues! And if you had lunch, the waitresses would bring your meal wearing role-skates!
Good morning lindajoy

We made ours using KoolAde (the good KoolAde) and water we kept in the fridge. One day my little sis grabbed the wrong bottle and we ended up using seltzer water. We thought we were going to get sick because this was the water my grandpa used to mix with his "medicine". Ate 'em anyway.

Country music is much better and easier on ones ear than this rap crap of today. In country music none of that vulgar language is used to promote their songs.

There was a root beer stand in our city that made there own brew. I don't know that He made his own syrup but he mixed the brew. He kept his mugs in the freezer so they were very cold. So you ordered your mug of root beer and then had him put in a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Now that was heaven on a hot summer afternoon.
