The Fundamentalist Christians of the 70s created the unbridgeable rift between parties and laid the groundwork for other fundamentalist, like ISIS, to find an outlet. They made religious differences political. America was reduced from its stature as the exemplar of democracy to a petty and mean-spirited chaos of bitter rivalries. The government slowly ground to a halt when Republicans had control. The most Do-nothing group ever in its history, responsible for 2 shutdowns that cost billions of dollars, and the lowest popularity rating ever. And they continue, promising to eviscerate SCOTUS and thus the Constitution. The whole world is now leaning "Tea Party," that is i***tic extremism and non-cooperation that will eventually lead to many totalitarian states and the end of America. Never mind the morons calling for secession; the worst is already done. Trump and his ilk have ended this Republic. There will be revolution, by the instigation of the Right, the so-called "patriots" that will reduce this country to ashes and make us lower than a Third World nation, ripe for takeover.

What did the well-intentioned evangelical movement for prohibition due to this country, and the world? It helped create an evil and persistent and powerful underground that not only persists to this day but is corrupting the planet. Religion should not meddle in politics.

You show your ignorance. Prohibition was allied with progressivism; which is the perfection of mankind through government.

It is the job of religion to provide the moral framework within which people make their decisions. What you just wrote is something out of the ACLU, which remains to this day a c*******t organizatilon.

C*******m doesn't work, Tommy. It doesn't matter how much you lie about obstructionism, it won't work. The real obstructionists are the Democrats. If anything, the RINO's in Congress facilitated the l*****t policies of Obama by not stopping him when they could. Stunts like the House Committee sitting down on the floor and refusing to move are an example of the l*****t strategies that are pulled and then they blame the other side for obstructionism because they didn't get their way. This is just one instance of a typical l*****t tactic of blaming the Republicans for doing exactly what the Dems are guilty of. As my father used to say, it just depends on whose ox is being gored. In this case, it's whose policies are being v**ed down. The result: a $20 Trillions debt for or grandchildren to pay. Read "Disinformation" by converted C*******t, Gen Ian Pacepa. Unfortunately it appears that enough people have bought into this garbage that we will be faced with another 4 years of l*****t crap. I pray that this Country can survive 4 more years of criminal rule.

Have you asked yourself why the last 8yrs have been so d******e , look no further than obama's stance on i*****l i*********n , he said i******s should have no fear of v****g ,,,, really ?? The absolute division of the race relations promoted and pushed by admin. is unacceptable . Our economy is sluggish at best , the mess he inherited in middle east is far worse and admin. and hillary policy has inflamed area . The outright destruction military by obama and the RINO's who allowed it must be reversed .

Lol, who told you that? Research it yourself. It was part of a revivalist Christian movement, started back in the 1800s.

How so? Any facts or history you want to add? What specifically in my thread do you take exception to? And do you have a counter-argument?
