I have gone through all the reports regarding this issue. This is what I learned.
1. The dance company had rented the space last January.
2. All the children are white..... video at the bottom of this article http://www.usatoday.com/story/theoval/2013/12/05/obama-american-university-ballet-company/3877009/
3, Obama insisted the interview be in front of college students http://lonelyconservative.com/2013/12/childrens-nutc*****r-rehearsals-scrapped-to-accommodate-tinglesobama-interview/
4. The university, although stating they will compensate, did not offer an apology

Some will say, so what kids get over things easy and no harm was done. To those people I say, you have never rehearsed for a play or been a dancer. To cram two days of work into the same day as the performance is not easy and can do physical harm. The children (not all ages was given, but the "Mouse" is only 7) will be tired! When you are tired, you make mistakes, mistakes in dance can result in broken ankles, legs, striated muscle tissue, dehydration. Then people will say, well an interview with the president does not happen all the time. Again, you do not watch TV; he is always in campaign mode and not a day passes without seeing him making a speech--little wonder that the congress complain that he does not meet with them. An alternative site could have been arranged, why did it have to be in front of college students....oh ya, Obamacare is failing because college age kids are not participating as required. So, next you will complain that I made an issue of the dance company being white children. Think about this, would he have bumped a black dance company? And really, I am not the only one who thinks that he is NOT impartial. But, that is for another time.
I have gone through all the reports regarding this... (show quote)

American University admitted they cancelled the dance troupe. Yell at American University, end of any story. Or are you saying that Obama, knowing that a young white dance troupe was practicing at that University first called the school and then Matthews to make sure their rehersal would be cancelled so he could speak to college students?

Without more information than all those links provided, blaming MSNBC, Matthews, or Obama in anyway for breaking the hearts of those precious little ballerinas is bogus. But this is what Fox News does all too often. Does MSNBC do the same. Certainly, especially Ed and Lawrence.
If either of them or someone else tried to run this type of yellow journalism to simply iincite h**e by a political spin of the emotions, I would also object and make it known.
A couple of stories started to turn me off to both those MSNBC hosts, though mostly it was their sniveling arrogance, the breaking point with Ed was going on and on about terrible Christie was going on long ago scheduled vacation with his family instead of cancelling and dealing with some minor problem in NJ. Tripe.
