I like to think of myself as a conservative. However, I'm not sure what a true conservative is. I know what a left-wing liberal is: Anyone I disagree with! I listen to Rush Limbaugh perhaps that tilts me in the conservative direction. Speaking of Rush: Listening to his program today, I learned the press is now engaging in an all-out effort to separate Trump from his supporters, by any means possible. No longer is the press attempting the subterfuge that they are about reporting the news. Defeating Trump is the Holy Grail.

I also, like to think I'm wise enough not to fall for the press's tricks, which brings me to the conclusion that we are between a rock and a hard place. While I've never deluded myself with the idea that Trump was the best choice for our side, but, of course, we thought, better than Hillary. At this point, I'm not so sure Trump is better than Hillary. I'm beginning to believe that both candidates will cause more harm than good, however, by different methods.

Johna Goldberg, by all accounts, is about as conservative as one can get, unless, of course, he has me and many others fooled. I'm not smart enough to be able to post his latest piece here on OPP, and it would probably be too long a read anyway, it would be best for anyone interested to Google it. I hope I'm not falling for something I thought I was wise enough to avoid when one considers that Jonah is a form of the press, albeit, supposedly on the conservative side.

If even half of what he wrote about Donald Trump is true, it is truly frightening. I think we've all seen a side of Donald that Jonah describes, even if we don't care to admit it. So what's the answer? There may not be one. We are between a rock and a hard place!

People talk about v****g for the lesser of two evils. Hillary is far more evil than Trump but, I think it would be better to v**e for Gary Johnson. Both the Republican and Democratic Parties have crappy candidates this time around. This would be the perfect time to v**e for a third party if there ever was a good time. I'm going to v**e for Gary Johnson. It's best not to v**e for evil at all.

Yup, but the democratic rock will sink us and the hard place may offer a safe mooring. That's about the only choice.

Of course it will be a very rough ride.
Democratic rock? No, they have built themselves a house on sinking sand, as have the Republican Senate and Congress.

So, do I run and hide "behind a party" name? V**e third party?
No. I choose the non-politician, business dude who can run this country like a true business man. Running this country has been "business as usual" for too long.

I suppose it depends on how you look at it. No not suppose, I believe it to be a fact. If you h**e Democrats or the very thought of them, then your choice is easy - as long as you stop your thoughts right there. If you believe everything Trump says, disregarding the many versions of those beliefs we've already seen and the "I was kidding" and "I was exaggerating, well, not much" and the rest, then your choice is easy. If you believe the many Trumps you've seen are the real Trump, and not characters made up for reality TV, and that one of these Trumps will be sitting in the big chair, then your choice is easy. If none of the above apply to you, then your choice is hard.

By the same contrast, if you h**e Hillary with a passion ( like myself ) and you stop right there, your choice is easy. If you h**e Republicans and/or the very thought of them, then your choice is easy. If you h**e any sort of conservative, real or otherwise, then YOUR choice is easy. If you believe that Hillary has learned her lessons about secrecy ( personal ), lack of secrecy ( National ) and not following established rules and protocols, then your choice is easy. If none of the above apply to you, then your choice is hard.

If you're looking for an upstanding citizen who plays by the same rules as everyone else, who feels for the average American and can understand their problems, and who is not self centered and self absorbed - then you're just f&cked this year. This isn't about deciding between multiple evils, it's about deciding which of the evils would do the least harm on the WHOLE. It would be a mistake to make one's choice based on a single issue, such as the Supreme Court, as we cannot trust ANY of the candidates to make decisions after being elected, according to what they've said during the campaign. You see, liars - lie - and they're all liars.

It is time that the anti-trust laws be invoked to break up the monolithic Main Stream Media. The horrendous distortion of facts and the obvious uniform bias, of the media can only come from being imposed at the top of the corporate chain.

Just as Ma Bell was forced to split into seven other entities for the public good, the media empire does not benefit the public in its current form. Remember it took a court decision in the Carter-phone case plus another court case to find that Bell was suppressing innovation, to break open the technological advances that led to our current smart phone technology.

We may yet see a major change in our culture, when information is not suppressed or presented from a single view point.

Hillary is not evil any more than I she has made some mistakes In a long career but she is the most qualified woman in or history to serve as our President. In her college year book she was predicted to be the first woman president that was in 1969 and she is in the brink

William F, Buckley Founder of the National Review whom Jonah Goldberg writes for once described what a conservative is, He said the job of the Conservative is to stand athwart shouting "STOP" And I have never found anything else they wee good for. Certainly there is no record of any positive contribution any of them have ever made to the advance of civilization
