I do not care about Cal Thomas's background or qualifications. The most renowned Theologian of the 20th Century, said to be a very brilliant man, welcomed Hitler's rise to power in 1933 as "a miracle and gift from God." We each need to open our own eyes and pray for discernment. The whole world is presently leaning dangerously Right, ready to place liberty and justice far behind concerns for safety. Trump has shared that leaning as well as a return to a status quo that is no longer sustainable without violence and overriding the Constitution . Hillary, on the other hand, is what we are thoroughly s**k of with Washington. The world seems to be rapidly changing and no one on either side likes it very much.
I have always thought "It can't happen here." But it has already happened. The arguments about whichever side is possibly to blame for the entrenched d******eness in this country, with all its destructive h**e and fear, is moot. We need to do the most uncomfortable and dangerous thing as it is seen now: each side start listening to the other, looking for ways to heal instead of pushing agendas. This is definitely a crossroads. The two candidates both represent the worst about us. The choice we have is not about who gets elected POTUS but how we choose to get along with those of differing opinions. It is up us, we the people, to end the impasse and descent into darkness.
