On February 8, 1920, Winston Churchill published an article, "Z*****m Versus Bolshevism: A Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People," in the Illustrated Sunday Herald (London), reprinted in Lenni Brenner, ed., 51 Documents: Z*****t Collaboration with the N**is, p. 23 (2002). Among other things, Churchill said (pp. 25-26):
There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshe-vism. . . by. . . international and for the most part atheistical Jews. . . . [I]t probably outweighs all others. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from the Jewish leaders. . . . The people referred to are not Jews. A Jew is one who follows Christ. It doesn't matter what ethnicity they are.

A black September shadow cloaks the dawn,
The City’s once white teeth now rotting stumps,
Midst choking dusty embers ether-borne,
Its shrunken soundless heart now barely pumps.
Infernos upon retribution rise,
Fanaticism maddening the flames,
Its once imposing deities abscise,
As the faceless antagonist proclaims:
A consummation sweet but unfulfilled,
A penetrative burst without regret,
A zealous passion never to be stilled,
An earthly instinct powerful, and yet -
This bitter loathing blowing from the East,
Curtailed but could not k**l the feisty beast.
Never to be forgotten....
