Myself and Arch had a good talk a few nights ago and we came up with pretty good synopsis (pretty cool word) of what would happen if we all met somewhere. We believe that damn near all of us would become friends over a couple of beers. Maybe all iz not lost. There are some here who might buck that theory but for the most part...many on OPP are pretty smart in how they portray themselves. News nugget, we have a new member who thinks 9-11 happened on Mars. Name iz Stephendoyle and cut me off on his 1st stupidass post. I'm in morning....actually it is the afternoon. Live and let live

Ya know, I spend a lot of time on OPP, but not a lot of time "logged in". I'm a retired Army Sergeant Major, 68 years old, living with the results of agent orange due to my tour in Vietnam and I agree with you and Arch. I believe if most of us met somewhere we would part friends. I grew up in the general vicinity of Arch, and have PMd him a couple of times, I like him and I like his attitude. I like your attitude and stance as well Cess, and wish you and yours the best.

I always knew agent orange was not going to go away. I hope the best for you sarge. Sometimes at the bar, I see and hear people talking about Vietnam service and I can tell they are lying. why would someone make up anything like that. that iz sacred to the actual servicemen.

Thanks! I have learned to ignore the ignorant comments and also think that most of the f**e warriors call the country "Nam", the real Vietnam vets I have ran into don't say Nam, they say Vietnam or "in country". But ya know, it's no biggie - they know if they were never there, or even ever served. When they go to bed at night, and the room is dark and quiet - they know they lied, and no mater what they accomplish in life, they will never be a Vietnam Vet.
I harbor no resentment against anyone who served but we're not assigned a tour "in country", and when I run into one, I tell them the didn't miss anything.
I will not be judged by anyone who was not there.

We did, Mr.Jones! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have spoken to many here, either through PMs, or voice calls. I have met one face to face on 2 occasions as well. I honestly think that people would be pleasantly surprised at how civil we are, and what good people we are when outside the OCTAGON that is OPP.

Your spot on Archie I'd have no problem meeting anyone here on OPP !

SGM I too was in Vietnam 68-69 so far the VA says I've not been affected with AO however I do feel for my bros that are affected !

My cousins husband was affected from AO with prostrate cancer I've had bladder cancer but they tell me that type of cancer isn't on the list !

On many occasions I've had to set some folks who are totally clueless straight when they say AO is hype

Yep so do I was told it'd be a couple of years on my knee which would go out on a regular basics ended up going to a real Dr for the replacement .

VA very poorly run .

I got a civilian Dr now if I need to see one quickly and only go to the VA for x-rays and my meds !
