The Republicans are sworn Obstructionists even before Obama had an hour in office. This is thoroughly documented, there is even a book from that date outlining how to stop any and all initiatives by Obama--despite their possible merit. And Mitch McConnell's public statement that day affirming the GOP plan to destroy a working government. "Most do nothing Congress" in our history for six out of eight years. Frown on Obama's executive orders, reflect on Republicans who even stoned-walled simple maintenance costs, like toilet paper.

I am not a fan of Obama, especially his drone warfare, but only r****m explains the persistent resistance and attacks on him. He could have been truly great...except for the adamant obstructionists. Two very well respected pundits on the Right are conceding a Hillary victory and calling for the same tactics that have threatened our economy and are undermining our basic freedoms. Do not listen! START TAlKING TO EACH OTHER AND COLLABORATE TO FIND SOLUTIONS. Stop being the Tea Party. Stop being the party of Limbaugh and Trump. The No-Nothing Party would be a fresh breeze. Republicans are out to destroy America.

Great another dips**t liberal who has already decided if we believe Obama's policies harmful we must be r****ts. You ever consider republicans already new what the POS stood for as a know nothing senator. I can't name one piece of legislation he has proposed I would agree with. If that makes me a r****t so be it. By the way I dislike Hillary as much or more than him. I guess that makes me a confused r****t.

They're kinda helping to destroy America, whether intentionally or not is irrelevant. When the elitist RINOs, Boehner and McConnell, handed Obama the purse strings to prevent another government shutdown, it was all downhill from there. The congressional GOP is not obstructionist, it is impotent. With his pen and his phone and his executive fiats, Obama consistently ignores congress and totally violates his oath (he had his fingers crossed when he swore the oath, TWICE). Liberal progressivism has been on a mission to shred our constitution and "fundamentally t***sform America" into something it was never meant to be. Welcome to Obamaville.

Be grateful they were able to stop as much as they did or Obamacare would describe a lot more than the health insurance fiasco.

In other words, you want us to start being Socialist Democrats. That's your REAL solution, isn't it? You're no fan of Obama? Sure you aren't. Has it ever occurred to you that this opposition you refer to is mostly bulls**t? If there is so much opposition, why is it, that with Republican control of the House since 2010, Obama submitted at least 2 budgets that did not get a single Democratic v**e? Why is it that his last 2 budgets have passed with no Republican opposition, to the amazement of the Democrats? The supposed opposition is merely pablum for the great unwashed. You should stop listening to MSNBC, CNN and FOX News also, for that matter. It doesn't matter what is said. It is not that hard to Google the Congressional Record and find out who v**ed for what, which is what counts, not what sort of bulls**t speech they made.
It might interest you to know that Obama's EO's have been overturned 13 times by the Supreme Court. Actually, four were his own, and the other nine were signed but never actually used by previous presidents. Some Constitutional scholar. His ACA, passed totally by Democrats, is on life support. His foreign policy has made the world in general far less safe, and contributed to the mess in the Middle East. He has repeatedly violated his oath of office, often with the concurrence of Republican leadership. If you think there is much difference between the Republican and Democratic leadership, you are a child. They care about their own precious asses and not much else. They are a political party unto themselves. The "Inside the Beltway Let's Have a Party" Party.

tommymoore, Don't you remember, when G.W.Bush was president and Harry Reid was Senate Majority leader, not only wouldn't they pass any thing the president wanted, Harry wouldn't even put it up for a v**e. Back then, you probably thought it was a good thing. You liberals say any one that isn't Obama's lapdog is a racisr. Could you even conceive that some people really care about the country, the economy, or the future for our children/granschildren?

Unemployment could have ended the first year by fixing the 60,000 bridges that still need fixing.

The problem is that most of the public, including liberals, actually believe that the President is responsible for the state of the economy. He has only the right to veto a spending bill. The economy belongs to Congress.

Technically, the House of Representatives. Obama's last two budgets sailed through without any of the "obstructionism" being referenced here. One of the reasons for Trump is that Republicans were sick and tired of being sold out by their party's leaders.

BZZZZZZT! Incorrect! Government, in any and all of it's shapes or forms, does not 'create' jobs or anything else. Government is a parasite on the economic activities of the populace it portends to govern. Entrepreneurs create jobs as a by-product of doing business with each other. Government takes from productive people and provides wh**ever government dictates to those unfortunates who are governed. Only through the ability of the Federal Reserve System to print by fiat the money government consumes, can it function. If they were forced to tax the e*****rate directly for the funds required to operate in their current form, Government would be much smaller and more manageable.

There are a lot of bridges in need of repairs throughout the US and that's an indisputable fact. Those bridges are in need of repair precisely because their maintenance falls under the purview of government. Had they been privately owned, no doubt they would have been better cared for and jobs would have been created for this purpose. Private owners would have directed sufficient funds to the upkeep of not only bridges but all of the myriad infrastructure we now see falling apart before our eyes. Unlike politicians, private owners have a vested interest in the upkeep of their equipment. A politician has no incentive to look past the next e******n cycle.

They say that those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. This little fiat money experiment has been tried many times before and every single time it failed spectacularly. http://dailyreckoning.com/fiat-currency/ This time will be no exception.

What a moron!! I'm tired of hearing that old, worn out mantra of the left that, "only r****m" explains the resistance to Obama's policies. It's right up there with "Bush's fault", as a means of giving Obama a pass for all his policies that intentionally undermine the US.
Obama could have been a truly great president only if he changed his stripes and became a conservative. Being a dyed-in-the-wool radical liberal meant that he was destined to adopt every cockamamie liberal position which have never succeeded anywhere in the world wherever tried.
Reagan, the last truly great president, never wavered from his conservative principals and henceforth was able to succeed.
History will show that Obama was the absolute worst president ever! From the outset he set out to destroy this country which has done more than any other nation in history to raise the standard of living for more people than any other country.

Don't you remember, when Barak was ellected, we were promised that he was our saviour. MSNBC( Messianic Savior Named Barak Channel) let us in on it that Barak would save our country. I guess it didn't work because every one didn't bow down and worship him.Too many of us must have been listening to our preachers telling us not to bow down before the Donkey of the Democrats or the Elephant of theRepublicans, but only to bow down before the Lion of Judah.

tommymore- The only way anything changes in DC is if the leadership changes from a professional politician to a total outsider at the helm. We can elect the best democrat/republican politician available and nothing will change because the professional politicians like it the way it is. Hillary typifies the absolute worst insider to ever seek the office. What are the odds of the parties cooperating as long the POTUS is an insider ? The political divide has never been any greater than it is now and it started at the beginning of Obama's presidency when the opposing party was referred to, by Obama, as "the enemy". An outsider, beholden to nobody, is the only way our government undergoes any kind of a "clean-up". Look at all the misdeeds and scandals under the Obama regime and not a single person has been held accountable. The democrat party should change its name to the Progressive Socialist Crime Party as its standard bearer is an indictable criminal. PS. don't worry Trump will not stop your welfare check until he finds you a job. Good Luck America !!!

I would argue that either Wilson or LBJ, (both Democrats also ) were the worst presidents. At least since the beginning of the 20th Century.

Technically, bills must start in the House. In fact, they can begin in the Senate, which must approve in any case.

If Obama's budget sailed through, it is only because there was advance agreement on NOT fixing 60,000 bridges so that the lights would stay on.
