What's even more HILARIOUS is what you said the Reputations do, QUOTE: "People tell us to v**e their way when their party offers nothing and in the process, we serve their political purposes", Now that's a text book definition of the way the DEMOCRAT PARTY has done b****s for years, and to say b****s serve the Republicans for a political purposes, is total BS. Case and point, this is an e******n year and DEMOCRATS has been all over the black group B*M, and the REPUBLICANS say ALL L***S M****R. then you said, "the right concludes that b****s cannot think for themselves" again a text book example of the DEMOCRAT PARTY, you know the one's for big government, control, and regulations. As far as the b****s being the most SOPHISTICATED V****G BLOCK, you must have pulled that one right out of you ass, because you can pick any major city that's ran by DEMOCRATS, are a total mess from debt, to crime, and we know b****s v**e DEMOCRAT, so from that to the way they do nothing big give b****s a bunch of lip service for their v**e, with nothing in return, and b****s have v**ed Democrat forever and are still complaining because they can't get ahead and still live in the projects. Well if that's sophisticated then I guess they are. But I also attached a link with that sophistication at work from those who v**ed and that of the candidate elected.

I disagree...me and Obama are byproducts of the civil rights movement...like Condi...a professor at Stanford at 26 years old. Like Colin...a five-star general and chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. I graduated from college three times.....been a EE a professor and been on jobs around the world that would have never happened if not for AA giving me the opportunity, regardless of my education level. I am a byproduct of liberal policies that benefitted b****s. My dad was super smart and did not have half of the opportunities I did so I beg to differ. I went from frying burgers as a teenager to making six figures for just sitting on my ass writing reports and emailing students....so if you believe black Democrats are confined to the projects...let me take you to my friends houses in Houston where both are college educated professionals living in masons that have waterfalls and eucalyptus trees growing inside of the house with a couple of benzo's in the garage. You are sorely misinformed and need to move away from r****t stereotypical thinking..

As a former US history teacher, I believe the Confederate Battle f**g belongs either in a museum, battle field or
in a a textbook, no place else. If Southerners like to think that the f**g is part of Southern history, heritage and p***e, so be it.
My family came to this country in 1911. Thats well after the Civil War. They lived in New York City, and were all wonderful people in their own right. Some of them are liberals and two actually were P**********l Advisers to President Reagan and both Bushes. What I am saying is that I am not a Southerner, but I h**e the Confederate f**g! To me it is a symbol of the KKK, American n**is, treason, and s***ery. It wouldn't bother me if they had a public burning of that f**g in Churches all over the South. It it's a real living symbol to B****s with everything that is wrong with their historical presence in America. I say burn it!!!

SARAH D. WIRE
WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs is changing its policy on displaying the Confederate f**g, at the urging of Rep. Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) and other House Democrats.
In a letter to Huffman, Interim Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Ronald Walters wrote that the new policy will prohibit the Confederate f**g from being flown at any permanent f**g pole at a national cemetery.
“We are aware of the concerns of those who wish to see Confederate f**gs removed from public venues because they are perceived by many as a symbol of racial intolerance,” the letter states.
“We are also aware that the national cemeteries originated during the Civil War and that they are the final resting places of those who served on both sides of that conflict and as such f**gs of the Confederacy are also viewed by some merely as historical symbols.”
The policy will continue to allow private organizations to display the Confederate f**g on individual Confederate soldiers’ graves on certain days.
The f**g can also still be displayed at certain ceremonies and at private burials taking place at national cemeteries.
Earlier this year, the House v**ed 265 to 159 to approve an amendment with the new policy to the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, but the amendment was not included in the final version.
At that point Huffman, who led the amendment with Reps. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) and Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), requested that the Department of Veterans Affairs make the policy change itself.
“While r****t individuals and groups continue to embrace the Confederate battle f**g, it has never been more clear that this anachronistic symbol of hatred, s***ery, and i**********n should not be promoted or gratuitously displayed on federal property,” Huffman said in a statement.
“That’s why I am so grateful that the Department of Veterans Affairs responded to our letter and to public concerns and decided to prohibit the large-scale display of Confederate f**gs on our national veterans cemeteries.” sarah.wire@latimes.com   Twitter: @sarahdwire

So why should your opinion prevail? Your family had nothing to do with that conflict; yet you believe that their exalted positions should make your desires paramount over those whose relatives fought and died under those f**gs. I have seen Bill Clinton's face printed on toilet paper sheets and countless number of Trump and Hillary cartoons which were less than laudatory. Its called free speech and your tender sensibilities are not sufficient reason to abrogate that right.

pafret, My family was a working family. The second generation, my Mother's sisters and brothers were working in the garment industry. Only two went to college. Of the third generation, my generation, All the cousins became doctor's, lawyers, teachers, government workers, and it is true that the lawyer's branch which is extremely Republican did attain a level of excellence in their profession, law. I was a teacher. Part of the left of my family. I was drawn to a " helping profession " Money was never the goal of my life. I know people that made it big. They have my admiration.
I never said my opinion is any better than anybody else's. I'm just putting forth what I believe !

Man you are wrong once again. It doesn't matter what the f**g became. What matters is what the f**g stood for. You are also wrong that it became used by r****ts after the civil rights movement. It became a r****ts symbol when the dem party started the KKK after the Civil War. So by your thinking, you weren't r****ts as a kid, but you are now, so you should then be encased. That battle f**g means nothing about s***ery anymore than its about the 2nd coming.

Political groups[edit]

The 1948 Dixiecrat political party extensively used Confederate symbols, including the battle f**g, and contributed to the f**g's post-World War II re-popularization.[12] According to historian John Coski, segregationists utilized Confederate symbols as both they and the Confederates had similar goals, that is, opposition to any "change the south's racial status quo." As a result, Coski stated that "There could be no more fitting opposition" to desegregation "than the Confederate battle f**g. Although segregationists lost their battle and their cause was discredited, attitudes of w***e s*******y live on."[13]

In Georgia, the Confederate battle f**g was reintroduced as an element of the state f**g in 1956, just two years after the Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education. It was considered by many to be a protest against school desegregation.[14] It was also raised at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) during protests against integration of schools.[15]

Supporters of the f**g's continued use claim it is a symbol of Southern ancestry and heritage as well as representing a distinct and independent cultural tradition of the Southern United States from the rest of the country. Some groups use the "southern cross" as one of the symbols associated with their organizations, including groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.[16] For other supporters, the f**g represents only a past era of southern sovereignty.[17]

Democrats do not try to repeal AA and lower black college enrollment and professional inclusion. Democrats also do not make laws that creates difficulties for black v**ers. Also, when b****s bring up civil rights issues, back up the need with social research and offer policy approaches, Democrats do not tell us fuck you like Republicans. That is a start but I can give many many many reasons b****s do not affiliate them selves with the GOP. Poor w****s shouldn't either, but they have been convinced to never coalition with b****s, even when at the same economic level Dem policies would benefit. Trump 1%, 0% in some areas. sad

Thanks for proving my point. The r****t democrats used conferderate symbols for their h**e, that in no ways depicts the meaning of those symbols. Sorry, he has a right to his opinion without regard for where his family came from, just as those who believe the Confederate f**g commemorates their struggle have the same right. If they want that f**g to fly over their ancestors graves, so be it. It is time to grow some skin, a spine and get off the victim express.

S***ery happened, its over. Prejudice is rampant, as is r****m, as long as it doesn't impact anyone's rights it doesn't matter. It will never change. What group publicly expresses the most bigotry and race hatred? I am not losing any sleep over that nor will I alter my behavior
