The leaven of the Pharisees
What is leaven? Leaven is like baking powder or yeast. What does it do and what effect does it have? It adds minimal nutrition but when added to flour changes the shape of the dough. Jesus says in three gospels to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. Churches have more in common with the Pharisees than Christ and the disciples. These false prophets are teaching a salvation that ignores God, Jesus, and the prophets. Jesus says He is the way, the truth, and the life. For salvation to be possible you need the Old Testament. The church should not ignore the prophets. Jesus says not only to beware of false prophets but shows how to recognize them. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. You will have to make a choice as you cannot please both. We now have a political party that doesn’t announce it’s intentions and run on ideas. It lies and insults it’s opponents. It doesn’t run for office. It expects you to vote against the other party. They hide the truth about themselves. When they become lame ducks, they expose their true selves. We believe we are saved while we elect a government that legalizes abortion and same sex marriage, and enacts policies that will only destroy this nation. We now have losers, failures, and criminals as politicians. This is not how America was founded. The principle was government with the consent of the governed. The government should fear us more than we fear it.
