Next time someone criticizes your singing, just tell them this...

I don't sing for your enjoyment. I sing for my own enjoyment.

Feel free to share some more comebacks. I'm always looking for new material.

One of the very best I ever witnessed was when I was working at the UN Building in NYC. The staff they have there are very select.

I was working in construction and one of my co-workers thought he was really the man with women. We got on the elevator and he said to the elevator operator, a very cool & attractive woman, this all time great opening line, "Gee, you must really have your ups & downs in this job." She replied, "It's not the ups & downs so much as the jerks in between." That shut him up for a long time. It coudn't have happened to a better guy. He was a prick.

Here's one I use when someone calls me an i***t: Really? You think I'm an i***t? Well, coming from you, that's quite the compliment, what you consider idiocy, the rest of the world would consider pure genius. Thank you!

Although my grandma couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, she always sang the loudest.
Comeback. "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD. I'm singing to Him, not to you."
