Spain destroyed itself

Spain used to be a world power that controlled nations beyond it’s borders. It’s ships were on the same level as Britain. That is why Mexicans speak Spanish. Then they let religion divide the country. The Spanish inquisition was the most severe in Europe. Instead of building Spain, Catholic Spaniards tortured and executed Jewish Spaniards. The Roman Catholic Church divided society and sowed discord among brothers. People in the church would think up new ways to torture and inflict the most painful death possible. One Spaniard would accuse another of heresy in order to take his goods and/or property. A house divided cannot stand. We should learn from history. Those who don’t learn from history are condemned to repeat it. If we cannot stand together we will fall apart.

Within 80 years of the Protestant Reformation there were 200+- different divisions within Protestantism who were burning up those they considered heretics to their own new theology. And they burned them at the stake with as much frequency and enthusiasm as did the ill advised Spanish inquisition. The Roman Church at least acknowledged the sinfulness of the Spanish inquisition while the majority of protestants are totally unaware of their own European killing of "heretics." Furthermore, the practice of burning/hanging witches made it even to America.
